Look at solr/CHANGES.txt, the upgrade from 3.6 to 4.0-ALPHA section. I cannot give an affirmative answer. But I am thinking that it would have potential problem, as the index format in 3.3 and 4.1 are slightly different. Why don't you upgrade to 4.1?
