is looking for a new director.
The museum has an extensive collection, beautiful
new gallery spaces, and is located in the main
square of Yverdon-les-Bains in Switzerland.

the appointment of Patrick Gyger as the new
director of Le Lieu Unique in Nantes, France. The

Maison d'Ailleurs is a museum of science fiction,
utopia and extraordinary journeys in
Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland. It owns an
extensive collection of over 100'000books and
objects related to science fiction and utopia.
It is also a public museum showing exhibitions by
contemporary artists such as Ken Rinaldo, James
Gurney, Alejandro Jodorowski and Dave McKean. It
also shown major exhibitions by, or about, key
historical figures such as H.P. Lovecraft and
Mervyn Peake, and curated thematic exhibitions
which explore themes such as robotics,
biomemisis, futuristic architecture, contemporary
utopias and more.
The museum also acts as one of the world's most
important research and iconography centres for
science fiction. In this capacity it worked with
the European Space Agency on the Innovative
Technologies from Science Fiction for Space
Applications <http://www.itsf.org/> study and
touring exhibition, which analysed space
technologies within science fiction literature
and cinema. It has also toured many exhibitions
internationally.

Tâches: Assurer la direction et la gestion du
musée, le suivi de la muséologie et des
collections, le choix et la programmation des
expositions temporaires et des événements.
Représenter une institution unique en Europe et
en assurer le rayonnement.
Profil souhaité: Formation universitaire ou
équivalente. Expérience muséale et en gestion de
projets. Bonne connaissance du domaine de
l'utopie, de la science-fiction et du monde
vernien. Capacité à diriger une équipe. Langues :
anglais exigé, allemand souhaité.
Entrée en fonctions: février 2011 ou à convenir.
