Shouldn't the -a and -f options be the other way around, ie: ... -a ZZZLP1.eni
-f ZZZLP2.eni? At least, that works for me. Or doesn't it matter?

Gilles,

That did the trick. I have my ADSL connection running with Linux now :-D

Thank you very much!

Hello,

I'm pretty much stuck trying to get my SpeedTouch 330 to work on SuSE
linux 8.2, kernel version 2.4.23. And this seems like a very helpful
mailing list so I hope someone here can give me some pointers.

 You need modem_run from the V1.2 driver and use -a /your/path/ZZZLP1.eni -f
 /your/path/ZZZLP2.eni options for modem_run

Leonard,

modem_run 1.2-beta2 doesn't have the -a option:

# modem_run --help
modem_run version 1.2-beta2: $
usage: modem_run [-v level] [-m] -f microcode
   -v : verbose level [0-2]
   -m : monitor the line
-s : skip the first 512 bytes read
-f microcode : upload this microcode file first
-d device: defines the device to use
-k : using the kernel mode driver
   --help : this message

Is that what you wanted to know?

[speedtouch] Failing to load firmware?

2004-04-02 Thread Schelte Bron
Hello,

I'm pretty much stuck trying to get my SpeedTouch 330 to work on SuSE
linux 8.2, kernel version 2.4.23. And this seems like a very helpful
mailing list so I hope someone here can give me some pointers.

I have downloaded the speedbundle, unpacked it, ran make and make install
and plugged-in my modem. I'm definitely no expert, but it seems to me
that modem_run is unable to load the firmware into the modem. I used the
alcaudsl.sys file from Windows as my firmware.bin (the modem works fine
under Windows 98).

I have also tried to use speedmgmt, but that seems to fail too. It exits
with code 255 while I get the impression that it should keep running,
right?

I have attached some data that I thought may be interesting for anybody
kind enough to try to help me with this.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Schelte.
