RE: Manufacturing with shipping storage
Let me say where I'm coming from...I believe Chapter 13 Misc Storage applies to this. The Insurance Company is telling the owner due to the plastic sided cartons that the density could go as high as .70 regardless of height, but he is checking in to it. The owner has asked my opinion and I would like some feedback before giving my opinion, making sure I am not missing something. Bobby Gillett Sr. Project Manager Key Fire Protection, Inc. I would think stainless steel exhaust parts would create a fairly heavy pallet load. How heavy are the cardboard and plastic containers that they can support 2 high when open topped? RE: Manufacturing with shipping storage
That's a good question, I haven't seen the scenario - only been told by owner. They are encapsulating it with shrinkwrap but I would have to agree there must be something there helping to support the other pallet. The owner said sometimes their customer requests the plastic sided container because when shipping over seas the cardboard doesn't hold up well even though they shrinkwrap it well. Makes sense. Maybe he can supply a picture of an example. Ultimately the insurance will have final say, he's just trying to make sure its not way over the top.
