Updated by building the sqlite-autoconf-308.tar.gz
package, correct?

Are you upgrading from an earlier version that you had
built and installed yourself? Or from the system SQLite?

Actually I updated from the precompiled Mac binaries, and my previous
version was also from the precompiled binaries.

I've never built SQLite myself.

Do I need to build SQLite from source to turn the command history back
on?

If so what options/libraries/etc do I need to use to do so?

Thanks

[sqlite] 3.8.0 Update

2013-08-27 Thread James Pearson
I've just updated to SQLite 3.8.0 and seem to have lost the ability to
use the up arrow key to cycle through my command line history.

I was a few versions behind so that functionality may have been removed
in a previous release. Is there a way to get command recall back?

Thanks,
James

Re: [sqlite] sql/tcl script

2012-01-16 Thread James Pearson
If it's just for setting up databases, tables, etc, why not just use a
sql script?

Throw all your database object creation sql into a file and then execute
that file from within sqlite using the ".read FILE" command.

I don't know how to get command-line editing working on a mac even
compiling it myself. Can you send me links to instructions on how
to add
command-line editing to Mac programs? If so, I'll try to add this
to the

precompiled binaries.

My apologies but I'm afraid I don't know how to implement command

Did something change regarding command line stuff from version 3.7.5?
 I
still have that version of sqlite on my mac and command line recall
works

fine in that version?
