I expect you meant 'now available' :)

CET is CEST in summer, which is UTC+2

I feel a need to point out that it is not, technically, rsync that was
corrupting
the database. The issue is that rsync does not take -snapshots- of files; for
that matter, very few backup tools do. One fix/workaround is to have a cronjob
for making textual dumps.

Apple's new iPhone uses SQLite 3.1.3 to manage its database of

This query works really slowly and i don't know why :/
For example, the same result by another QUERY work much faster!

SELECT type, stamp_id, old_player_id, new_player_id
FROM town_log
WHERE old_player_id = $ID
UNION
SELECT type, stamp_id, old_player_id, new_player_id
FROM town_log
WHERE new_player_id = %d
ORDER BY stamp_id DESC;

Hello Humanoid,

UNION performing much better than an equivalent query with OR is a
known 'limitation' in many database systems, including MySQL and
SQLite. Page 52 of http://www.sqlite.org/php2004/slides-all.html
explicitly recommends to use UNION here.

Arrow up and down work fine for me, I'm not sure what your actual

Hello Alex,

every time you open an sqlite database file, the sqlite library has
to parse all table structures. It is much better to keep your
connection/handle open for longer periods of time.

IN is much faster - OR disables any use of indexes for column mycol.

John,

All keywords need to be quoted to use them as identifiers. There is
a comprehensive list of keywords at http://www.sqlite.org/
lang_keywords.html

I would also suggest that you stick with the SQL standard method of
quoting identifiers using double quotes (rather than the other
extensions that SQLite accepts for compatibility with other non-
standard database systems).

Using double quotes to quote identifiers in sqlite is dangerous, as
mistyping
a fieldname will not yield an error. Currently the only safe way to
quote

identifiers is using backticks, as in MySQL.
