Why do you believe it shouldn't be necessary? C1_A is an identifier, not

a string literal. What is this identifier supposed to name?

CREATE TABLE T1(a, b); 
INSERT INTO T1 VALUES(C1_A, randomblob(1));

SQL error:no such column: C1_A

I know that I can quote the value C1_A, but why is that necessary?
