[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Address already in use"
I've been using LMS 7.7.5 on my Mac mini (Yosemite) to stream to a Squeezebox 3 and a Squeezebox 2 since whenever. This morning, one of them said it could not connect to the server. I went to the Pref Pane to make sure the server was running, and it wasn't. So I clicked Start Server. It goes gray and says "the server is starting" for a few seconds, then goes back to Start Server. I looked at the logs, and they say (several times) [16-02-28 10:52:10.5834] Slim::Networking::UDP::init (39) FATAL: There is already another copy of the Logitech Media Server running on this machine. (Address already in use) [16-02-28 10:52:10.5838] Log::Log4perl::Logger::and_die (868) Warning: FATAL: There is already another copy of the Logitech Media Server running on this machine. (Address already in use) at /Library/PreferencePanes/Squeezebox.prefPane/Contents/server/lib/Log/Log4perl/Logger.pm line 900 I tried reinstalling LMS, but no change. I'd kill the other copy, but I don't know what the name of the process is. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Installed Ubuntu 15.10 and now logitechmediaserver says This webpage is not available
Did this command: dpkg -i logitechmediaserver_7.7.5_all.deb Every thing looked good but when I got to port 9000 it says This webpage is not available but it shows the little Logitech media server icon just before the http in the tab of the web page. So it must be getting there a little. I'm sure there's good sound logic behind it but what does the Artist count represent? I'd happily look at some code if I knew where to start. Alternatively Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to PC speakers/headphones. I have one follow-up question: Since I updated LMS on the laptop to 7.8.1, the Squeezebox device screen regularly pops up saying an update to the firmware is now available. Should I go ahead and update the firmware? Although LMS software on the laptop is now at 7.8.1, the LMS software on the iMAC where all of the music files are stored is still on 7.5.4. I will try updating LMS on the iMAC soon when I have some time. In the meantime, will an upgrade to the firmware cause any issues between these 2 computers that run using different LMS software?
