Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Connecting remotely - no input for ip address?

2016-10-19 Thread Mnyb

And double check your external IP as seen from the outside of your LAN
whatsmyip is one service that provides that .
It's you own lans external IP you want to punch in to the radio .

And make sure that you vpn setup or portforward is good , then it would
probably work .

I'm a bit surprised that an institution like a hospital has such
friendly network policy . Many places like hotels have some pop up
authentication page that you to press agree on and that makes it
impossible to connect a Squeezebox directly

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] lms not listening on all interfaces

2016-10-19 Thread gillecaluim

I've got slimserver running on a linux box with several lan interfaces.
I can only connect to the lms via 10.20.30.1:9090fyi 10.20.30.1 is
one of the lan interfaces. I ran netstat to see what's going on

# netstat -anp | grep 9000
tcp0 0 10.20.30.1:9000 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN 13793/perl

# netstat -anp | grep 3483
tcp0 0 0.0.0.0:34830.0.0.0:*
LISTEN 13793/perl
udp0 0 0.0.0.0:34830.0.0.0:*

# netstat -anp | grep 9090
tcp0 0 10.20.30.1:9090 0.0.0.0:*
LISTEN 13793/perl

Is there a way to get lms to listen on more interfaces?

If that's the case, I dunno how I didn't realize that. I'll check either
after my son falls asleep or tomorrow. hah.

Thanks for the help. I'll report back on my stupidity for sure cause I'm
thinking you're probably right and I missed it.

That's pretty much what I said when I was setting it up... I "should" be
able to do this... 000-002 is all you get the selection to choose from
in my case. And it's on two different Radios.

Even if I wanted to use a 192.168.1.4 I wouldn't be able to even get
past the first number. haha. 1 is it. I can't select the number 9.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Connecting remotely - no input for ip address?

2016-10-19 Thread kllngtme

ok so to be clear, my router is good. This has nothing to do with being
able to connect or port forwarding.. This has to do with literally not
being able to put my IP address in.

All there is to select from is 0, 1, and 2. That's it. No other numbers
are available. For example. If my IP address was 100.56.99.127 or
something(I made it up). I would not be able to get past 100. There is
no input to even put the number 56. I can't select anything other than
0, 1, and 2. When you scroll through what should be numbers 0-9, and
there is is 0,1,2,0,1,2,etc.

I've rebooted and everything. It's nothing to do with my server or ports
on my router being forwarded.

I have another Radio and verified it's the same behavior on the other
Radio as well and that Radio is at home. It literally has nothing to do
with the server as the radio is already connected to my server. It's
just when you goto put in an IP address of another remote server,
there's no way to do it unless your IP only consists of 0's, 1's, and
2's.

I can take a picture if you'd like later..

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9 randomly skips to the next song without finishing the one playing

2016-10-19 Thread Jim Holtz

I'm back again. I switched channels on my router to an unused one in the
neighborhood. I thought that nailed it but it still skips randomly. The
Duet receiver is 2.4 and shares with 4 other direct TV devices. The
router is a Netgear R7000 AC which is connected to a 100mbp service
cable internet connection. The receiver sits about 30 ft from the router
and is separated by the floor. This has worked fine for several years so
I'm really baffled why it's now skipping in the middle of songs. Very
frustrating!

This is a second system so its not the end of the world but I do like to
use it for listening sessions once in a while.

Anymore suggestions?

Jim

Unless you have specifically setup your local router (at your home with
your server) to provide an external IP address *and* allow external
connections, you won't be able to do this. (and keep in mind that
opening your router to the outside world can be dangerous if you don't
know what you're doing, or even if you do!). See this for more info

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Connecting remotely - no input for ip address?

2016-10-19 Thread kllngtme

I have a Squeezebox Radio I'm trying to setup in the hopsital for my
girlfriend while she's in there.

I goto, Settings>Advanced>Networking.. I connected to the hospitals wifi
with no problems.

Under Remote Libraries where I would normally put my IP address, it's
not allowing me to use every number. The first octet set only allows me
to use the characters, 1, 2, and 0. I can't enter any other number.

I managed to get it connected to mysqueezebox.com and playing music that
way but I'd like to connect to my servers IP.. Is there a bug? Is it
setup for IPv6 or something? I'm so confused but either way it doesn't
seem I'm able to put in my IP address..

Anyone have any ideas?
I'm using LMS Version: 7.9.0 - 1475786002

Do you use the autorescan plugin ? I would consider first to move files
to storage and then manually start the scan ?
