Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Missing icon in System Tray

2016-11-30 Thread StevePalmer

Thanks. Yes I've already got Squeezer ray in the startup list - I can
see it there but it's not visible in the tray after boot up. Weird!
That's what made me think it might be an 'issue' rather than (my)
incompetence

I think you still need to run C:\Program Files
(x86)\Squeezebox\SqueezeTray.exe from startup or task scheduler to get
the tray icon. This is the tray icon, not LMS.

Check if you can find SqueezeTray.exe listed in Windows Taskmanager's

How do you start LMS?

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Missing icon in System Tray

2016-11-30 Thread StevePalmer

Hi guys

Just reinstalled the latest version of LMS on my new Win10 PC. All is
working fine after a couple of mis-steps with iPLayer, but I was
helpfully pointed in the right direction by this Forum :)

The only niggle now is that the green LMS 'tray' icon isn't showing in
the tray. I know there has been many previous posts about this
(including a couple from me a few years back where I solved it by adding
the file to the startup group) at
http://forums.slimdevices.com/search.php?searchid=2547237

So, I confidently repeated the process on my shiny new PC... and it
still doesn't show. I even added it as a 'task on startup'... and it
still won't show.

Does anyone know whether this is solvable or it's a glitch in LMS under
Windows 10?

Many thanks!

Steve

It works as you pointed out and worst of all in the file type panel you
could not see the MAC or the type of the player whom the rule are
applyed to, you just get 'n' lines, one for eache rule and have to
guess... What workaround did you found?

You could have a look at C-3PO plugin that REPLACE the usage of
custom-convert.conf and file type, building some sort of GUI over that
(and SOX usage) Is not meant to handle 'hierarchies' of players, so it
works by player, but...

here the repo to add in the plugin page:

Ok, that makes sense as I am running 7.9.0. I typically do install the
updates however, the reason I posted here this morning is because the
update prompt I got this morning errored out during the installation and
completely horked Media Server. I needed to re-install the previous
build in order to get back up and running.

If you are using 7.9 and mherger got his build system running again yes
.

It migth not be much done if any each day ( check the changelogs ) but
it build automatically from the latest code .

7.5 and 7.8 would be stable 7.8.1 and 7.9 gets upgrades .

Also it could be a plugin that has updated too ?

So the basic implementation I currently have works with squeezebox names
and does a pretty good job in finding them using fuzzy search on input
name against listed names. I'm not sure how it will work with
non-English names - we can have a look at that when we get to testing.

As a fall-back, the skill will also enumerate all the found devices so
it's possible to say 'play squeezebox one'. Also, once a particular
device is selected, all subsequent commands will be carried out on that
device so it does not need to be named each time.

Regarding something like

'Echo - play radio 4'

The way skills work, it's necessary to somehow initialise the skill and
that requires naming it. At least the first time in a session.

I'm looking at ways to mitigate this by leveraging the streaming media
ASK command set though this still needs to be tested.

Are you planning to have SB players callable by name? eg. Lounch Touch,
