Thank you for your reply. I apologize for not providing my system information. Not used to posting, only reading. I run LMS in my Vortexbox which is plugged directly into my modem. I stream the music files through my Squeezebox which is connected direct to my Denon AVR in the lounge room by optical cable (I hope that's the system info you mean). This problem first surfaced about one month ago when I bought an Oppo UDP-203 blu-ray player. I had read some comments where people had been able to connect their SBT to it to take advantage of the AKM DAC that is in the player. >From what I could find it seems that I connect via USB between the SBT and the Oppo and have the "Enhanced Digital Output" applet installed (which it has been for quite sometime now), and have the Oppo connected to the Denon AVR analogue. I had no success with this. I then noticed the "EDO Release Kernel" and "USB Test Kernel #7" Kernel Installer setting so tried to install them too. As I said in my first post, every time I tried to download them it would indicate thet were downloading, the SBT would reboot, but they would still appear in the Kernel Installer. I've also tried the optical connections between the SBT and Oppo and 3-4 factory resets with no success. After a factory reset had no problems getting LMS up-to-date. So, in frustration, I decided to use the Oppo UDP-20X smartphone app instead. Whilst this picks up the LMS in the VB and allows me to play my music files using the AKM DAC (the files do sound sensational BTW!) it is very "clunky" and not as good as the Squeezer app I used before. No gapless playing and it won't allow you to pick one song at-a-time and make up a playlist whilst the songs are playing. You have to wait for the song playing to finish before you can pick another one to play. So that is my situation. I'm afraid I'm very much a Newbie when it comes to actually delving into the "guts" of the SBT so I don't know how to access the server.log. Sorry! Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Is "Play all" sorted on year instead of albums possible?
I had not realised that this was requesting playing an artist by year ... I had interpreted it to mean simply playing all tracks from a particular year. PasTim wrote: > I have always had more hearing loss in my left ear than right ear. > Lately, not being terrifically young any more, it's been giving me > problems using headphones. Thanks for this Tim. You rightly describe the condition as "more hearing loss" in one ear or the other when you're "not terifically young any more". In my case the greater loss is in my right ear and was caused by lymph node removal in my neck and cheek some years ago. Contrary to your case however my hearing is greatly improved with headphones and I have invested in quality RF remote headphones. The wider subject is interesting and gives food for thought. Passive mono conversion can be achieved as described here: http://www.rane.com/note109.html This is for the case of where a single speaker is fed from a stereo source. Some modern radios for instance have similar circuitry internally where as an example, a DAB radio with a single speaker has a mini-jack to feed a stereo signal into it's single channel amlifier/speaker. A small chromecast audio can convert a quality radio such as this into a fairly reasonable music player. The challenge is to find a way of feeding both the radio and the chromecast from the same power supply, be it internal or external. On the other hand vintage FM radios rarely have input facilities and where they do the mono channel is a component of the FM stereo signal and is fed directly to the amplifier/speaker and no such internal mono conversion is available. I think about, and sometimes implement projects based on these thoughts, but the number of squeezelite players in my system tends to grow like topsy until I cull some of the players and the cycle starts again. 22908 not yet implemented. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can't add any 3rd party plugins
The URL applied in the repository appears at the top of the Plugins page "Bad repository http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...44/repo-sf.xml - 404 Not Found", but I am able to access this URL via Google and download it to my Windows desktop. Do you lack the IO::Socket::SSL module on your system? Check your server.log. right after the restart there might be a warning about SSL. And a little more information about your system might help, too. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Plums wrote: > Wonderful! All working now! Thank you so much for your brilliant fast > reply. <3 I am also having the same problem running "Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1488878280 @ Wed Mar 8 14:00:59 UTC 2017" in a Vortexbox. Have been trying to install philippe_44's "squeeze2upnp" plugin but every time I add the repository to the "Plugins" page and click APPLY the page flickers briefly than comes back exactly the same. There are no plugins page near the bottom of the page under "Philippe's LMS Plugins", nor is there any 3rd party list and no associated check box. The URL applied in the repository appears at the top of the Plugins page "Bad repository http://downloads.sourceforge.net/pro...44/repo-sf.xml - 404 Not Found", but I am able to access this URL via Google and download it to my Windows desktop. I have also noticed, on my Squeezebox Touch, that I cannot download "EDO Release Kernel" or "USB Test Kernel #7" from the Kernel Installer setting. Each time they download they appear back in that setting. I tried to use the Putty command to stop SSOTS "/opt/ssods4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods stop" but it returns the message "-sh: /opt/ssod4/etc/init.d/rc.ssods: not found" (please note that this is the first time I have used Putty). Would greatly appreciate some help. Thanks.
