Thanks for the info. I didn't know that about channels 1, 6 and 11. 6
and eleven are pretty congested allready. Channel 1 however, it seems
like there is only one other person using this. I'll look into changing
my router to channel 1 tomorrow.

Ratings (and play counts) are native to LMS, so if that's all you need
(and file paths haven't changed), there's no need to import - the
existing persist.db contains these, and they are not overwritten by a
re-scan. TrackStat synchronizes it's own data with LMS' on startup.
However, if file paths haven't changed, why do you have to import in the
first place? The TrackStat data in the database should be still valid.

I'd use sed for this type of search/replace. Since you seem to use

Doesn't work for me, but that's because I tag those bands as Public

Seriously, though, searching for PIL does identify the album -This Is

You might consider setting your router to use a different channel than
most of your nearby neighbors. Also, channels 1, 6, or 11 will be best,
as they are the only 2.4gh WIFI channels that don't overlap with nearby
channels. See which of 1,6,11 is least used by neighbors and change to
that. Also, don't allow your router to use any sort of "smart channel"
management (where it moves around automatically to different channels.).

I did remove both and reconfigured LMS to start at system start again.
Now it's again not working. This time I get the following message in
system.log:

Jun 2 09:48:13 localhost com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (Squeezebox[86]):
Service could not initialize: 17G31f: xpcproxy + 11793
[549][809DFA0C-D637-3382-9253-032F3215580B]: 0x14

When I open the preferences pane and click on LMS it's indeed not
started. I can still start it manually without any errors. I guess that
it starts up too early in the boot process and maybe iTunes or an
external mounted drive is not ready yet? Unfortunately I don't
understand what might cause above log message. Any hints?

Thanks!
Siegfried

mherger wrote:

Hi Michael
I periodically receive links with new albums from a provider that serves
several German/Swiss/Austrian download platforms with music, for which I
am invited to write reviews online. I do not care about single titles or
singles or only when the album is available.

I do it for a small fee per review, but it's not my main job ;-). And
I'm compensated with the music ;-).

I download all new albums 2-3x a month, correct the tags according to my
needs (4 categories Jazz, Rock, Pop, Soul, R & B), execute Replaygain.
Then I listen through the recently added, unrated albums. For this I use
the predefined Trackstat queries. I rate those albums that do not
interest me in one move with *, the others are listened to more closely
and their titles are rated. Incidentally, over 50% of my collection is
rated *, but I cannot persuade myself to delete those albums.

Since LMS runs on a fast SDD and since LMS 7.9 the corresponding
Trackstat queries are OK. It was much worse with 7.5.6. So the
performance problems are not my main problem anymore.

For my private listening I use library views. These have been a big help
since 7.9. But for example, until now I have not been able to create a
library view for unrated albums or titles via a advanced search query
(there is missing a corresponding variable in the input mask, perhaps
this is not possible). Trackstat may not be well integrated into LMS as
a plugin in this respect. However, it's easy to compile titles with
minimal ratings for a given time period or genre via a library view.
These work well:
2018_3 + (163 tracks) (Example: All tracks rated at least *** from
albums from 2018)
3+ (198,663 tracks) (Example: All tracks with at least ***)
4+ (23,034 tracks) (Example: All tracks rated at least )
5 (3,139 tracks) (Example: All titles rated *)
5_Classical (102 titles)
5_Jazz (119 tracks)
Added2018 (46,382 tracks)
AllClassical (43,412 tracks)
AllJazz (129,925 tracks)
BestOf00s (6,329 tracks)
BestOf1968 (180 titles)
BestOf2010 + (4,175 titles)
BestOf2016 + (111 tracks)
BestOf50s (143 tracks)
BestOf60s (1,001 tracks)
BestOf70s (2,930 tracks)
BestOf80s (3,731 tracks)
BestOf90s (4,682 titles)
BestOfAll (23,034 tracks)
BestOfAll320kb / s (12,244 tracks)
BestOfAll_ohne_Klassik (22,445 titles)
BestOfClassical (758 titles)
BestOfJazz (2,269 tracks)
BestOfVor1950 (7 tracks)
before1950 (8,156 tracks)

Main problem: I've had to replace the external hard drives several
times, be it because of full disk or defects. I also have 3 backup
generations. It is extremely cumbersome to restore reviews with
Trackstat Restore. The import always takes several days. There is also
no feedback about the restore status. The file paths must match exactly
(or I have to manually edit the backup file, which is not trivial
because oft he file size of about 300 MB). If Trackstat was integrated
with LMS, I could sleep better.

Still, LMS is by far the best thing I've come across for my purposes.
And I even asked radio studios about their professional systems. These
exceed my financial possibilities.

Best regards
Daniel

Is it just me / my setup or is something changed sometimes ago?

Yesterday i was searching for "PIL" but there was no match.
Using Advanced search and searching for PIL - there is a match.

Since its the same with OMD i think the reason for that is the short
Name.
I cant remember really but i am pretty sure OMD had a match in a earlier
Version.

Maybe that was when i am using two Artist lists now i am using one
(because of the various artist behavior)

The Advanced search works for me so not a real issue.
