Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LogitechMediaServer for Qnap x86_64 with qts 4.2 or higher
10,000 file full scan took about twice as long as 1.10.b1 at 484 seconds. My system seemingly has slower disks, as an 100.000 files full scan takes about three hours here. Or you have different NAS models. ARM vs. Intel CPU, 4GB RAM vs. 512MB etc. And with a library your size it's crucials to use the high memory options. Using Maximum (if you have <1GB RAM) can greatly improve performance. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shortcut to Spotty album within main LMS library
Is there anyway to have a "shortcut" (Windows 10 speak) to the Spotify album in my main LMS library, so I could find it under e.g. Artist = Gerry Rafferty and just click on it and fire up Spotty etc.? Unfortunately no. It's an idea I've had in my head for a while now. And if I was to work on LMS full time it's what I would make LMS8... plus a new UI. But these two go hand in hand. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Scan Missed a Song
I investigated a bit more and noticed that LMS was using a short file name (the so-called 8.3 name) for the track instead of the long name shown in Windows Explorer. I checked the tracks in my library.db and found that there are a few more where the original file or folder names have some "special" characters in it. Note that I have many albums especially from Northern Europe with lots of foreign characters that don't lead to 8.3 names. There are relatively few artist or track names that lead to this, like Leszek Moder (a Polish jazz pianist). Anyway, I assume this behavior is caused by Perl. So if the file is not added to the library in the OP's case, maybe Windows is configured to not create the 8.3 names at all? This can be checked with the command Code: fsutil 8dot3name query (see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/fsutil-8dot3name) reinholdk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=36070 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109589 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Shortcut to Spotty album within main LMS library
I've a feeling I know the answer to this but I'm going to ask anyway because I'm not a "power user". Current streaming software (e.g. Roon etc.) is very good at integrating local (hard disk) libraries and streaming services, so you can search for an album seamlessly across every source available to a user. I wondered if it is possible to so anything like that within LMS. For example, I have Gerry Rafferty's "The Very Best Of" album on local disk but I listen to his "Essential" album via Spotify using the Spotty plugin. Is there anyway to have a "shortcut" (Windows 10 speak) to the Spotify album in my main LMS library, so I could find it under e.g. Artist = Gerry Rafferty and just click on it and fire up Spotty etc.? Does this even make sense? If not, I'd recommend enabling updates and nightly updates in .qlms.conf and restart (and thereby update) LMS. Probably it's an oversight. If one > or more remote servers have been explicitly configured, it should just > skip the discovery process. Same here. There was no way I could persuade it just to take the ip rather than trying to discover first, even though it had run with that ip previously. nico wrote: > Hopefully it works for you too. Yes, but it took me most of an evening to discover little wrinkles. I went round many, many possibilities and variations before making it stable. I had produced a script to run it all, starting with "killall socat && soc", and quite often it failed. I think what was happening was that the killall didn't complete before the socat got up and running, so killed it. Putting the killall on one line and socat on the next seemed to fix it. Strange. I had also added a "killall socat &&" to the Remote command line in the .ssh config. That similarly caused random havoc, so had to go.
