Hmm... problems again with a TS-251, can't update from AppCenter; need
to install manually to go from 2.03 to 2.03.01

Thanks. I can't find out whether Connectbot uses some other underlying
ssh process or not. It may well use some form of shared services
library, but I don't know how to find out. I have ensured that Wi-fi is
on during sleep.

As I have only recently learned, Android puts processes to "sleep" when
the screen is off meaning that i.a. WiFi is stopped. Processes can work
around this (I think this is called "Wakelock", at least on my LineageOS
Android 8). So, maybe ConnectBot does and stays alive, but the "ssh"
process does not?

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Squeezeplayer on Android gets 'stuck' playing via on SSH

2019-01-01 Thread PasTim

I appreciate this not be the right place to ask this, but I'll try
anyway.

I'm using Squeeze Player on Android 7.1, connecting over SSH (using
ConnectBot) and Wi-fi. If the screen is off at the end of a couple of
tracks it gets stuck (using a browser on a PC as the controller it shows
the last few seconds of the track repeating). If the android screen is
on it's OK.

If I connect direct over my home LAN, not via SSH, it's fine.

This feels like something to do with gapless play, but I can't find out
the cause. A setting somewhere in LMS? A flaw in Squeeze Player?
Something to do with SSH? I've made sure there is no battery
optimisation for Connectbot and Squeeze Player.

Why am I doing this? If I'm away, before I leave I can open a port in
my router and access LMS remotely and reasonably securely over a wi-fi
connection.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Associating Volume Adjustment to Playlists or Random Mix

2019-01-01 Thread karlek

Besides Track Gain there should be Album Gain and Smart Gain available.
Album Gain keeps the Albums Volume Levels, Smart Gain keeps it when
playing two consecutive titles from the same Album.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Associating Volume Adjustment to Playlists or Random Mix

2019-01-01 Thread handsome

I would like to use volume adjustment when listening to random playlists
but not use it (for full dynamic range) when listening to albums etc.
Its a hassle to go into the settings every time to enable/disable - and
i keep forgetting that the adjustment is enabled (no onscreen
indication). So is there a way to 'associate' volume adjustment? Be able
to set to enabled when listening to a specific playlist or random mix -
but having it disabled when listening to individual songs or albums?
Could this not be an option for the random mix plugin? Or perhaps assign
it to a control on the remote/interface so one doesn't have to dive into
menus to use it?
