Hello, I was hoping someone could help me figure out an Audio player for RPI 3B+. Hi @michael I have uploaded again. The problem is thats iPeng playback is great but SPOTTY does not play continuously. After a song or midway, it stops playing and sometimes I have to restart to end up with the same issue. Any help ? I am using picoreplayer as my front end. Thank you!! I was so clueless about CUE sheets assuming that they would contain useful information. Much to my surprise, deleting them did not cause any noticeable loss of useful information. I did run the following on my music folder and then the problem was solved: find . -type f -exec metaflac --remove --block-type=CUESHEET * -- {} + michael.schefczyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72573 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115952 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Needs Reinstall Each Time It is Played on Duet
I uploaded the file to you. My system has two Duet receivers, each attached to a separate Denon AVR in separate rooms. One is attached to a Denon AVR 3313ci. An ethernet cable runs from my 2021 iMac to this part And that's the Mac where LMS is living? You said "LMS plays a selected song for only a few seconds": does it actually play music, then goes silent? Or are these few seconds just the progressbar moving a little? I see quite a few "operation not permitted" messages in the log file, when LMS tries to read audio files. From the path I guess they're on an external disk. Did you grant LMS, perl5.18 etc. full disk access, as outlined in other macOS related threads? ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

My system has two Duet receivers, each attached to a separate Denon AVR in separate rooms. One is attached to a Denon AVR 3313ci. An ethernet cable runs from my 2021 iMac to this part of my system. The other is attached wirelessly to the receiver, which is connected to an older Denon AVR; I don't recall the model number, but can get it if important. The wireless comes in on an Xfinity modem/router, but I use a Netgear Orbi mesh router with a kind of satellite. The wireless receiver connects to LMS on my Mac through the satellite. I use Peng to control the receivers. Please let me know if you need more. Thanks again. uarnutz wrote: > Looks like I need the basic user guide to this. I see the LMS > referred to all over the place but, not much on its basic functionality. Getting started with LMS can be a challenge. Much has changed, just in the past few years, and recent changes are not necessarily well documented, because many are still works in progress. For starters, you might look at the LMS section in the 'Squeezebox wiki' (https://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Logitech_Media_Server.html). Just be aware that much of what's there is now out of date, There's still some good information there, but it will be hard to know which is still good. It will, however, give you some historical perspective, if you're interested in that. As for getting to know LMS as it works today, the best way I can think of is to load the LMS web interface as I mentioned previously at LMS_IP:9000 (NOT in a mobile browser!) and then use the link at lower right to go to the Settings page. Explore the tabs on the Settings page. Many of the options available there have information boxes that will pop up when you hover the mouse pointer over the "i" icon. There's a lot of useful information you can find that way, and it's (mostly) guaranteed to be current. And when you encounter something baffling, you can always ask about it in these forums. Failed to be scanned by LMS 8.2.* with errors. 3. ran "*metaflac --remove --block-type=CUESHEET *.flac*" on the folder of flac file 4. ok, PcP backup was now also made explicitly. Would expect though that this is included in a upgrade automatically. Let's see what happens with the next update. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Migrate 7.9 -> 8.2: CUE Sheets now fail to scan
My workflow starts by ripping the CDs in my collection via Sound Juicer. That seems to be a well established Debian package and it delivers flac with some metadata. So far, it did not create any issues. I found it easy to modify the metadata included by Sound Juicer slightly in the following ways: - Add album cover photo. - Chance the album name to: "Composer: Album", because that would sort well everywhere (kodi, VLC, legacy Squeezebox ...). - Merge sets of multiple CDs so that they appear grouped. What I found was that even the output of Sound Juicer without any modifications (I did upload one example) is incompatible with the current Logitech Media Server. Removing the metadata is certainly possible. However, I would like all family members to be able to identify and find the content without much IT expertise. Is there a recommended workflow to reach that goal, such as use rip software X (ideally available on Linux and open source), use MusicBrainz Picard or software Y to modify tags ... ? michael.schefczyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72573 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115952 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Error trying to play music to SlimP3
I have an original SlimP3 in my basement, and it doesn't get used very often, so I'm not sure how long this has been broken. But not very long; I do try to keep it working when I update stuff, etc. I am currently running Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 - 1627922070 on a piCorePlayer with music library on a physical disk attached to the Pi (not that that should matter). I have the pcp-lame extension installed, which I *think* is the main/only piece of additional software required?? In Server Settings/Advanced/File Types, all the file types of interest (really, 99% of my library is either MP3 or AAC) are set to use faad/lame for conversion to MP3. When I attempt to play a file, the first error I see in the server log is this: [22-02-14 09:06:53.6337] Slim::Control::Request::execute (1888) Error: While trying to run function coderef [Slim::Control::Commands::playlistJumpCommand]: [Can't locate object method "protocolHandler" via package "Slim::Player::SongStreamController" at /usr/local/slimserver/Slim/Player/SLIMP3.pm line 199. It's great that the change allows jive to connect. The problem has been an issue with both squeezeplay and jivelite for a long time. I didn't test the change in an network isolated environment, so can't be sure what's causing the delay. Are you using bonding? I've noticed that sometimes it takes a longer time to connect via ssh to my aopen with it enabled? It's a small annoyance to have the ability to connect an ethernet cable when the wifi link fails and the same mac address regardless of which interface is active. sodface wrote: > Also, I posted an old APKBUILD file in another thread and for this patch > testing I updated it and I believe corrected the SPDX license identifier > to "BSD-3-Clause".
