Thanks for the suggestion but sadly in the UK a RasberryPi is not an option at the moment. The lead time from retailers is over a year and Ok, that's sad. I just checked with a local shop here in Switzerland. Yep, they're pretty much out of stock indeed :-(. Forget trying to run it on the Synology. Hi, I wonder if you can help me. I have been happily running LMS 8.1.1-1610364020 (pinkdot) on my Synology DS214play under DSM 6.2.4-25556 Update 3. I avoided the Pearl update so it continued to work. Unfortunately after I added a new plugin, ShairTunes2 (fork), it crashed and would not restart. I SSH'd into the NAS and browsed the LMS plugin folder but could not find it to remove so I uninstalled LMS. Docker is not a solution for the 214play but fortunately I had saved the LMS installer and had version "LogitechMediaServer-i686-8.1.1-1610364019.spk". I tried to manually re-install it but I got an error message that it was not compatible. I also had version "LogitechMediaServer-i686-8.0.0-1605892076.spk" and tried that and it installed and runs fine. I wonder if Synology have put something in the DSM updates to prevent installation as it was previously on a slightly lower version when I last updated. So my questions: 1. What is the latest version of LMS that will run on DSM6.2.4 and where might I be able to get it? 2. Secondly, are there anything tricks I can do to get the 8.1.1 installer I have to run anyway? IMHO this is not the expected outcome. This was brought up in another recent thread by another user who didn't want compilation tracks cluttering up the Artist album lists. As to your first question, the music does not play; the presser moves for a bit. You are correct that the audio files are on an external disc. As to your second question, I had not come across these threads. Sorry I missed them. I did grant perl5.18 full disc access. That did not resolve the problem. When I subsequently stopped the server, the problem returned. Moreover, when I used the solution I had been previously using - re-downloading LMS and being able to play the music in my library, it failed to work, showing the same problem- "playing" music for a few seconds (just the progress bar, then jumping to another song and doing the same thing. Not sure how to proceed from here. Here's my experience just in case it helps anyone else. Getting the tags right was a nightmare. Wrong ID3v2 version (just didn't recognise things), then EasyTAG had set a numerical genre, which wasn't understood, so I thought I'd try ID3v1 and it truncated half the titles! When I finally got the tags right with ID3v2.3, I found that it took multiple rescans to get LMS to accept the changed. Finally there now and this does provide a fairly decent browsing experience, but I still see them showing up in the normal "Artists" and "New Music" lists. Is there any way to make these follow the "All Music without Audiobooks" library view? With bonding you can setup the system to always have the same MAC address regardless of which network interface you're using.
