Then I remembered that one of my customers is an electronic engineering business and all of their employees that I have spoken to on the subject tell me that provided the cable is manufactured correctly there is no difference whatsoever. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Some thoughts and questions
On thing I should add on UPnP: its not that the standard itself is that bad, but the validation and certification is a joke. And a standard is as good as its certification process. Specifying is hard and there is always room for interpretation, even for thorough developers. In addition, there are a lot of really bad devs paid nothing by companies that have no clue what sw development is. So you add both issue and you have UPnP LMS 8.2 on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 8.3.0 released
I'm also experiencing the non-starting issue with the new 8.3 update (also tried the 8.3.1 version). I see a process Perl pop-up in Activity Monitor when LMS starting up but this disappears the moment it stops again. I reverted back to 8.2.1 and that starts up fine. I'm on a MacMini (mid 2011, 8Gb, 2.3Ghz Intel Core i5) running High Sierra 10.13.6. What information would be useful to have to troubleshoot this @mherger? Would love to get this working since your "There might be changes coming to MySqueezebox.com which will require LMS 8.3 or later. It's time to update." ;-) Thanks, Jan janpeeters's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=64816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=117012 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Plug-in dilema
Just mentioning that there are 2 Dynamic Playlist plugins. The new one is Dynamic Playlists 3 built by user AF1 and the old Dynamic Playlists by user Erland Isaksson. If you want the old one you must scroll all the way to the bottom of the Plugins page and check mark the "Use unsupported extensions" for the old DPL to be listed in the section of Unsupported plugins. You can only use one or the other of the 2 DPL plugins. Have a read about elevated privileges. In short although your user may be an Administrator in Windows 10 there is still one higher authority. When you do run as administrator you are invoking that higher authority.
