I have an original SlimP3 in my basement, and it doesn't get used very often, so I'm not sure how long this has been broken. But not very long; I do try to keep it working when I update stuff, etc. I am currently running Logitech Media Server Version: 8.2.0 - 1627922070 on a piCorePlayer with music library on a physical disk attached to the Pi (not that that should matter). I have the pcp-lame extension installed, which I *think* is the main/only piece of additional software required?? In Server Settings/Advanced/File Types, all the file types of interest (really, 99% of my library is either MP3 or AAC) are set to use faad/lame for conversion to MP3. When I attempt to play a file, the first error I see in the server log is this: [22-02-14 09:06:53.6337] Slim::Control::Request::execute (1888) Error: While trying to run function coderef [Slim::Control::Commands::playlistJumpCommand]: [Can't locate object method "protocolHandler" via package "Slim::Player::SongStreamController" at /usr/local/slimserver/Slim/Player/SLIMP3.pm line 199. LMS is indeed smart enough. OK, I was able to install the pcp-lame extension, so now transcoding to mp3 appears possible in the file format settings. Still running 7.9.2, and have not mucked around with anything in my network, so I was, um, rather surprised a couple of weeks ago when I noticed that in iPeng, SLIMP3 came up as a player choice! No idea what changed, unfortunately, but I'm not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] SlimP3 not connecting
I have an original SlimP3 in my basement, and finally got around to running an ethernet cable to it. So it boots, it gets an IP address, but then it seems to get stuck at trying to "Looking for Slim Server..." I am running LMS 7.9.2 on pCP 5.0.0. Does anything have to be adjusted in LMS settings to support the old player? Or is a plugin needed? There is IP connectivity between -- I can ping the SlimP3 from the LMS when I ssh into it.
