Well, we've actually worked through a couple of things.  LMS seems to be
OK now.  

I'm running 8.0, so unless you think I should upgrade to 8.1 we can
close this out.

Ugh - what is the size limit here?  Wouldn't it make a bit of sense to
state a size limit when clicking the Attachments link?  Regardless, I

OK, did media scan and there appears to be a new scanner log (6618K) but
can't upload it:  "scanner.log(4).zip: Upload of file failed".

Yes, I was saving multiple copies of the same thing.

But are you saying that if I do a media scan, a server log and scanner
log are also generated?  Those logs are generated as a response to a
media scan request?

The only scan I appear to know about is the media scan (Web Control >
Settings > Server Settings > Basic Settings > Rescan Media Library _OR_
Control Panel > Media Scan Details > Rescan _OR_ Web Control > Settings
> Information > Library > Rescan).  What I've been doing is Web Control
> Settings > Server Settings > Logging > (and either) Server Log File /
Scanner Log File > zip archive (zip file then copied to Downloads folder
and then attached to these emails).

Well, then, I just don't know how to run a scan.  Thought I did, but I
guess I'm just sending you the same thing over and over and don't know
how to create a new one.  Sorry.  I've tried researching this and can't
seem to find instructions on how to do it.

Michael, thanks for your help.

First off, the log file is from 8.0, not 7.9.3, because as I mentioned
in my edit I gave up on 7.9.3 and simply installed 8.0.  I'm set for
automatic updates but haven't received an 8.0.1 notice yet.

I think I've run a full scan - see attachment.

I did have the Deezer plugin installed but have uninstalled it
(unchecked it).

I have disabled the Online Music Library Import.

I found the log.conf file - deleted it and restarted LMS.

I did a full server(?) scan but can't upload it because
"server.log(3).zip: Upload of file failed".

I did a full scanner scan and it is attached.  

Whoo!  For a luddite like me, this is a lot.  Sorry to be a drag -

Thanks, Jon, but I wouldn't know how to read those logs to fix anything
if I did.  I do know how to get to them, of course, and I could save
them as an html file.  But understanding what they're saying and knowing
what to do thereafter?  Hah!

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Update failed - now LMS won't start

When trying to update to 7.9.3 (was 7.9.1), which failed, LMS stopped. 
Now, won't start even as Administrator.  I opened Control Panel as
Administrator, clicked on "Start Logitech Media Server" - it initially
says its running, but after a couple of seconds it stops.  Tried several
times, no luck.  Suggestions?
