Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Weird" LMS / / Touch / network / router problems
Cheers for your time answering guys! yeah, tried all your suggestions "Apesbrain" to no avail. Not sure what you mean with "different name" though? Host name you mean? I kept the "standard" name for the Rpi which was "DietPi" and my Win PC has another one. From yours "disable any proprietary functionality, e.g. AiRadar, AiCloud, AiProtection" may I assume you also have an Asus router? Never used any of those, all shutdown. And I agree that it's so weird that there seem to be a clear difference here between the two machines. And come to think about it, I've had at times three! different LMS running at the same time on the network and never had the same problem. All though this is the first time with a linux machine. One thing I'll try is to stop the OpenVPN server that I 've running on the router and see if that will make a change? Doubt it though. I had DD-WRT on the router years back but switched for official FW when I couldn't get openVPN working on DD-WRT. Otherwise I think the router was much more stable with it. I would really like to find the root of the problem. Sadly have zero fault tracing experience with Linux distros. Any Linux network expert out there? Think I might try switch back to DD-WRT but it's such a hassle so I hope I'll not end up there. Try some more rebooting, wired/unwired variations first and see how it goes. "the quest goes on" ... :-/ doggod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46431 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112523 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

For a time I was using powerline adapters to network a not-so-Smart TV with a defective WiFi card. I was picking up sporadic noise on my HiFi from this. I've since repaired the TV and retired the powerline adapters and the noise seems to have stopped. When you have the DietPi LMS running, do you still have the Windows LMS running? Maybe the players are staying attached to the Windows LMS? I'm not familiar with DietPi, I've only used piCorePlayer for the Raspberry Pi devices in my network. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Weird" LMS / / Touch / network / router problems
I assume you've done a factory reset on the Touch? See p.9: https://www.logitech.com/assets/32039/squeezeboxtouch-qsg.pdf Were you using the same ASUS router with your old configuration? If it's also new, it may have contemporary features that are interfering with its legacy (802.11 b/g) support. The Touch and Radio are (g) devices. You might check the router's compatibility mode and also try disabling the 5G radio. You might also try a factory reset on the router, update to latest firmware, and disable any proprietary functionality, e.g. AiRadar, AiCloud, AiProtection. If wired is not a convenient option, you might try Powerline adapters but for many they seem to bring their own set of issues. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Weird" LMS / / Touch / network / router problems
Been stuck on an annoying problem. I'm planning moving from Win LMS to Linux based LMS. For now I'm using a Rpi 3B which I installed DietPi (Debian based distro) on. Also managed to install LMS. Now stuck on having this weird problem that seemingly I can't solve. Have a mixed setup of HW and SW players, HW is two Touch and also have one SQB radio. Problem is that I can't get the the HW players connect to the DietPi LMS. It's completely weird! Was for a while thinking it must be a firewall that causing problems but from what I understand this can't be the case since the SW players connects with ease. Both Squeezelite and Squeezeplayer, no problemas. HW player no way. Can't for my life figure out what's going on here! After a while I even installed a DietPi VM with LMS but still same problem. Hmm while writing I get an idea ... Ok just tested connect one Touch with LAN instead of the WiFi and out of the blue I'm able to see and connect to the Linux LMS! Sorry for a bit incoherent order here now in the post ... Ok so that was good! But still I'm very, very confused what could be the problem?! If it's only one problem that is? A combination of router/player? When I use WiFi on the HW players then there's no problem connecting to my Windows LMS (wired PC). But as said no way it works with Linux LMS. The router is an Asus RT-AC56U with the latest official FW. I'm thinking more and more that it might be the Asus that's causing the problem? I kind of vaguely remembering other occasions with different HW that when having a dual band router sometimes two clients having problem seeing each other. Anyone else had similar problems? doggod's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46431 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112523 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
