Edit2; I have found it: I have made use in the past of the sort fileds mentioned (for my Apple Ipod that would not sort the way I like...). My compilations had these sort fields for albumartistsort and artistsort often filled with the "Various Artitst". If an artist now occurs also on a compilation, it seems to me the fields for are combined, and namesort gets the various artists inserted. I noticed this because when drilling down into the wrongly sorted albumartists, compilations albums appeared... Hopefully this helps other people with some of their sorting issues as well... Thanks both...how does the NAMESORT thing work and how do i configure it? You'll have to tag your files accordingly. I am guessing, but the sorting algorithm may use textual rather than numerical sorting logic. Correct. I am guessing, but the sorting algorithm may use textual rather than numerical sorting logic. Perhaps 10.1, 10.2 (or 10.01 and 10.02) rather than 10a, 10b will give you the results you want? Regards. I have tagged my album titles to include an album sort number (this is so I can spot Live albums etc. in the list) I would have expected (as an example only) ... 09 Album09 10 Album10 10a Live Album10a 11 Album11 ... etc. But when the order is displayed for this example, 10a precedes 10 Is there a way to change the order to follow this ie 10 then 10a then 11? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Albums not sorting the right way
I am on LMS 7.9, the latest build. Since using 7.9 my albums sort on artist name, this not what I want, I want it to sort on Album title. This always used toe be the case. If I check in the webinterface it sorts correctly but in all my players (radio, touch, android player) it aoerts on artist name. I can not find a way to manipulate this. Any ideas?
