No, only need an Internet connection to stream Music from the Internet
as in Music Services (Tidal, Pandora, Spotify, or a Library Source that
is not connected to the Server).

No, I don't think so.

There are a couple of people using piCoreplayer as a standalone system
or in the car.

piCorePlayer checks for internet access in some commands, this will take
a while to time out. There are a few opinions in [Tweaks] to turn off
tabs and controls.
