Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Migration of LMS installation to another machine

2019-03-12 Thread SlimChances

There are a few threads explaining this but basically :

Go to Settings/Information to find the location of
the prefs folder.
That's what you'd need to transfer. Just make sure you remove path
definitions in the prefs files. And in the case of server.prefs remove
the server_uuid value, too. Otherwise your devices might get confused.

I had that note tucked away in my documents somewhere. I am not sure if
you need to change much in terms of path definitions unless you have
trackstat installed

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Migration of LMS installation to another machine

2019-03-12 Thread LoZ

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked here before, I've run several searches
through this forum but haven't come up with anything.

I'm aiming to move my LMS installation from one headless Ubuntu server
(running 14.04.6 LTS) to another headless Ubuntu server (running 18.04.2
LTS).

I'd like to do a fresh installation of LMS 7.9.1 as this appears to be
the latest stable(-ish) release, but I would like to migrate the
database/preferences/plugins from the old installation (running LMS
7.9.0).

Is this possible? Is there any documentation out there?

Thanks in advance,
LoZ
