After googling for a couple of hours and finding very little on the error, I realized that I downloaded the latest development snapshot instead of 3.6.2. Make sure you have sqwebmail-3.6.2.tar.bz2 and not sqwebmail-3.6.2.20040125.tar.bz2 After installing 3.6.2, the error went away. What are the names of all of your mail folders? I created it many different times and did chown -R user.user to make sure. Created several users and same problem no matter what I did. Even made /home have root.users and added all the users to the users group for parent directory permission issues just in case. Really banged my head against the wall for a few hours. This was on a Redhat 7.3 box if that helps at all. Andy

Hi Flora, If I am correctly remembered (I had this kind of problem once), I think you are out of disk space or out of file inodes. Check your usage of disk space. Regards, Anthony M. Hi Flora, On Monday 02 June 2003 20:35, you wrote: Anthony, their are hardly any services running on this machine, it is most of the time 99% idle. I was referring to your system disk space usage, not system memory usage, as in services you were stated. In GNU/Linux you can check your disk space usage with df -h command. However when I try to login as another user, I get this in the apache logs Premature end of script headers: /usr/local/apache/cgi-bin/sqwebmail A possible error when compiling Sqwebmail had happened. Did error messages came out after you do make at Sqwebmail root directory? Uhhmm, I almost forgot, Mr. Sam once add that a possible Maildir permission may also be the source of the problem, but I cannot remember where I read that, perhaps you should check this mailing list archives (hey, I cannot find this mailing list archives site, where is it?) a.m.rasat writes: Hi Flora, If I am correctly remembered (I had this kind of problem once), I think you are out of disk space or out of file inodes. Re: Internal Error
I have compiled sqwebmail-2.1.1 using the slackware distribution (kernel 2.2.13) of linux. I am using the following configuration options. ./configure --enable-cgibindir=/http/web/cgi-bin \ --enable-imagedir=/http/web/htmldocs/sqwebmailImages \ --enable-mimetypes=/http/apache/conf/mime.types \ --enable-imageurl=/sqwebmailImages \ --with-authshadow \ --without-authmysql \ --without-authldap \ --without-authpam \ --without-authvchkpw \ --with-htmllibdir=/http/apache/sqwebmail I am using apache 1.3.12 and exim as my mail server. exim has been compiled with the maildir option. The build and installation completes without problem. When I run sqwebmail, I get the login screen. If I give the incorrect password, I get 'INVALID USER ID OR PASSWORD'. If give the give the correct password, apache returns with the error message: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, trilan and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. The only thing that I see in the server log is an attempt to execute the image cgi-bin/bg.gif. The script log contains the lines %% [Sun Jul 15 11:00:09 2001] POST /cgi-bin/sqwebmail HTTP/1.0 %% 500 /http/web/cgi-bin/sqwebmail %request Accept: image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, image/png, */* Accept-Charset: iso-8859-1,*,utf-8 Accept-Encoding: gzip Accept-Language: en Authorization: Basic bWFuYWdlcjptYW5hZ2Vy Content-length: 60 Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded Host: mail Referer: http://mail/cgi-bin/sqwebmail?noframes=1 User-Agent: Mozilla/4.76 [en] (Win98; U) username=fmilinazpassword=fmilinazdo.login=Loginsameip=on %response I have seen reference to this error in the mail archives, but I could not find a reply. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SV User cannot write to his own maildir. vpopmail? Writes to all the others! Whatever directory the authentication layer started the CGI in, is not writable. That's what the error means. Why sqwebmail cannot write to the current directory after authenticating as the given user, that's something you will have to figure out by yourself. -- Sam
