At the very least there are many users who would appreciate if they could set the list of ad_servers per subdomain. The ticket is only talking about the server mode, which is why I think I got the wrong impression we want it only for the server mode. I guess you are right there is no point in limiting ourselves only to the server mode and there may be valid use cases for non server mode as well. I will change the design page.
