First, you're talking about method overloading not polymorphism.  Second, this 
violates the 
JavaBean specification that says your setter must accept the same datatype as the 
underlying 
variable.  It gets confused when you have two setters for the same property accepting 
different 
datatypes.  Generally, your ActionForms should accept strings and then populate a 
business 
object with the correct datatypes that you pass into the business logic methods.
