Re: [Sugar-devel] addons.mozilla.org - what needs to be done?

2009-02-06 Thread Mel Chua
For Mick (who is coordinating Remora-fu):

As promised, I took a pass through the page and updated it today with
all I've heard and seen.

In particular: instructions on what needs to be done / how to fix things
if you break them are on
http://sugarlabs.org/go/ActivityTeam/Remora_port, along with links to
the two mailing list threads so far on the topic.

Perhaps more importantly, I checked all the tasks mentioned on
sugar-devel in the last 2 weeks and turned them into tickets:
http://dev.sugarlabs.org/query?status=accepted&status=assigned&status=new&status=reopened&component=activities.sugarlabs.org&order=priority&col=id&col=summary&col=status&col=owner&col=type&col=milestone

I wasn't sure who should be cc'd / owner of various things, so I erred
on the side of over-notification, since there were only a few tickets -
but feel free to unassign yourself and all that if I overstepped my
bounds (and my apologies in that case!)

Mick, let me know if there's anything I can do to help - else I await
your call to test the heck out of this thing.

Hi Tom,

do you want to hack on the Sugar shell or only in a new activity of you?

If the former, I recommend that you go the sugar-jhbuild way. Both
Fedora 10 and Ubuntu Intrepid are well supported, but other recent
distros also should work with more or less tweaking.

If the later, just install Fedora 10 and then install the sugar
packages. You can run sugar in sugar-emulator and code and test there
your activities.

And you are most welcome to join us in sugar-devel and the irc channel
#sugar in Freenode.

[Sugar-devel] SoaS - The Marteu Release

2009-02-06 Thread Simon Schampijer
Hi,

The Soas-200902061045.iso [1] has many improvements.

- we set up the Sugar repository for yum so you can update your build
with 'yum update' and do not need to download a new image each time

- we rebuild the rawhide SLiM (Simple Login Manager) package (use small
"default_blue" background, instead of large compat "default")

- and of course - fresh bugfixes from sugar-* head:

sugar:
- Fix italian translation
- Set the locale path for sugar-toolkit #55
- Don't mute when right-clicking the speaker icon #278
- Correctly cache the connection to the OHM service #249
- Show launcher screen as soon as possible #243
- Use documend-send icon (Gary C Martin) #227

sugar-toolkit:
- Set the locale path for sugar-toolkit #55
- Don't push to the DS a file path pointing to nowhere #258

sugar-artwork:
- Add documend-send icon (Gary C Martin) #227
- Add application-x-generic as a copy of application-octet-stream #13
- Add icons drive-harddisk and drive

Testing:
We tried to make getting logs as easy as possible. First rough
instructions on how to turn debug logs on to hand in good bug reports
can be found at the Sugar Labs BugSquad instruction page [2]. Please
report any issues you have with that and help enhance to detail the
instructions.

This happened to me some days ago, it was caused because the
sugar-jhbuild/jhbuild submodule was pointing to the old location.
Deleting that directory and updating sugar-jhbuild solved the issue.

[Sugar-devel] Another Soas image for the XO

Now with readable fonts :)

http://download.sugarlabs.org/soas/xoimages/soas3.img

Next challenge will be to trim the size down. I think Sebastian has
been working on that.
