Subject : Help needed for the proposal
Dear Sir,

Last day I was working with with the Sugar activities. I read the
documentation and setup the environment. I made this hello-world activity
which was instructed there and even used some of the artworks. I want to
ask how should I proceed with the project? Should I make a layout on GTK+3
and push it onto my github (But that'll take some time) or just writing a
detailed proposal of how will I get along with the project every week would
do the job? Please help me!!

Secondly i discovered this issue:
I have installed 'Sucrose' in my Ubuntu. Whenever I logout and login with
the SUGAR environment, it is good. However when I log out from SUGAR and
come back to Ubuntu, I still have that big cursor on my screen (The sugar
one), that is the original cursor is replaced by the SUGAR one. Is this a
problem with everyone?
A hack which I came up is to Reset the settings when you come back to
Ubuntu ( dconf reset -f / ) but that resets each and every setting.

Sincerely
Kushagra Nigam

[Sugar-devel] Gsoc 2019 regarding Create sugar dashboard

2019-03-22 Thread Ketki Salunkhe
Hello sir,
I want to know for 'Create sugar dashboard project'
1. For the dashboard which type of heatmap should be used?
2. For Tamagotchi the XO currently appearing has an on-click activity
performed so should I design a widget that will appear on hover of XO?

Hi!
I'm Akshat Malviya, a sophomore year student at Indian Institute of
Technology(IIT) Mandi, India. I've experience with web designing and
development and I'm looking forward to contribute to the Sugarizer project.
Specifically, contribute towards enhancing some existing activities. I've
completed the Sugarizer activity development tutorial series and am
currently trying to find issues and bugs to fix on the project whilst
working on the project as well.
I look forward to contribute to and connect with the community.

Dear Sir,

I have searched through the Sugar activities like Hangman, Memorize etc.
What I meant by the game repositories are the activity repositories of
games like these so that I can install these into my device, get to know
about the environment better, think about how will I go on to do my task
(planning is a necessary thing), and eventually write a detailed proposal.
I'm really excited to build this project :)

All proposals and candidates will be treated fairly, of course.

For the Sugarizer Exerciser activity, you can use a Sugarizer
development environment. See the Sugarizer developer documentation.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for acknowledging my idea.

You are absolutely right. The "they are cheating button" will not only
serve the purpose of someone writing the text but also if someone speaking
it up in the public. I'm up for this task. Could you please help me with
some of the game repositories(python) so that I can get an edge before
submitting the final proposal?

Re: [Sugar-devel] GSOC proposal

2019-03-22 Thread Pratul Kumar
Hello Ashish,
Glad to see your interest in "Improve Sugarizer server dashboard",

   1. Few things which I feel could be better is that You can elaborate the
proposal a bit, the current proposal looks quite condensed.
   2. Communicate further discussion in the mailing list.
   3. Also, the timeline is quite hard to read, if you can add it in the
format of a table, then it can improve readability.
   4. You dont need to put the complete link of PR and issues, just write
their number and attack link to those numbers, this can reduce the number
of pages needed also visuality will be better.
   5. The Timeline can be more in detail.
   6. Personal view: ( Proposal ranging from 15-20 pages is the best fit,
   in terms of elaboration, readability)

Regards,
Pratul Kumar
