Re: [Sugar-devel] seeking help to enable nepali keyboard input for XO-4
Hi all, We are planning on ordering the next lot of XO-4s and I need some suggestions on which keyboard model to choose -membrane or hard/clicky one. We had membrane one for our first lot and keyboard switching was very convenient on that model. One reason not to choose hard/clicky one is that it doesn't have key for language switching ( correct me if I am wrong) -I have one spanish hard/clicky and it doesn't have that key - key 56 at http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Keyboard_layouts. Hard/Clicky on the other hard is more convenient while typing. Please suggest. -Basanta On Wed, Nov 13, 2013 at 10:01 PM, Daniel Drake d...@laptop.org wrote: On Tue, Nov 12, 2013 at 10:14 PM, Basanta Shrestha basanta.shres...@olenepal.org wrote: Amazingly changing the manufacturing data didn't do the job but changing /etc/sysconfig/keyboard did. And we need to set KL to 'np' ( this the name of maping file for Nepali under /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ ) and we need to set some value ( np? ) to KV as well. And we need to decide on a key combination to invoke the keyboard switching between the default(English) and Nepali. Hi Walter We don't have plans to use stickers at the moment. The stickers won't last long in the hands of kids. But we need to have some mechanism to input Nepali characters. Re: [Sugar-devel] [fedora-arm] ARM Environment too slow for build
Exactly as you suggested, I didn't have to make tarball. Linking the firefox file to required location did the job. It just required some minor modifications like os.execl('.launch.sh','DUMMY') and replacing service_name with bundle_id on activity.info file and I could run the EPaath activity perfectly. Now there is just a minor problem and that is when I close the activity after using it is says EPaath failed to start. I guess it has something to do with activity not being suitable with new sugar interface. -Basanta On Mon, Jun 17, 2013 at 2:59 PM, Peter Robinson pbrobin...@gmail.comwrote: On Mon, Jun 17, 2013 at 11:37 AM, Peter Robinson pbrobin...@gmail.com wrote: On Mon, Jun 17, 2013 at 6:47 AM, Basanta Shrestha basanta.shres...@olenepal.org wrote: Hi all, In order to build OS and some other packages for XO laptop ( ARMv7 architecture compatible ), I am doing virtualization through QEMU using Versatile Express. Can you confirm what version is installed with: rpm -q xulrunner. I have a workaround that I used with F14 that should still work with this situation. Which repos are enabled in olpc-so-builder when you generate the image? Jerry Looks like an incompatibility with xulrunner, which hasn't been successfully built on F17 in a while: http://arm.koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=10131 Maybe Peter has some comments. You could try an older version of firefox to match the latest (old) version of xulrunner available. You can use the olpc-os-builder custom_pkgs module to add firefox, and the adobe_flash module to add the flash player plugin for ARM which you presumably already have stored separately. [Sugar-devel] can't 'yum update' from virtual environment
Hi all, I am trying to build os for XO-1.75. I have installed fedora 14 as main OS and installed fedora for ARM (Fedora 12) under virtual machine. Everything including network is working from within virtual OS and I can ping outer world as well. [Sugar-devel] Statically Built Chromium for my XO
Hi, I am looking to install chromium on my XO. Recently I downloaded a build from http://build.chromium.org/f/chromium/snapshots/ and tried to run it under the XO. Without much surprise, it complained about lot of missing libraries. What I am looking for now is a chromium which has been build statically. Can anyone point me a link to such a file or a process to do so.
