Re: [Sugar-devel] Hidden Browse feature (from webkit I think)

2012-09-18 Thread rihoward1
That is a standard feature of both webkit browsers and of mozilla based
browsers.

- Original message -
 Hi folks,

While I remember... Just accidentally spotted a rather nice sneaky
feature in the new webkit browse (in 13.0.1 build 2). Apologies if this
is old news, but is rather handy... You can type non-URL text into the
Browse location field and web kit will realise it is not a valid url and
will try a google search with it instead. Something for the release
 notes :)

Re: [Sugar-devel] Corrected instructions re Spellchecker in Write-63

2010-08-28 Thread rihoward1
Christoph,
I fixed a copy and paste error in my previous email.

To reveal the spelling checker popup menu open a terminal session and
use vi to edit /home/olpc/Activities/Write.activity/keybindings.xml

change the line
unbind-mappings handler=contextMisspellTest /

to

!--unbind-mappings handler=contextMisspellTest /--

and if you want to reveal the Spelling dialog access on the menu
change

unbind-mappings handler=dlgSpell /

to

!--unbind-mappings handler=dlgSpell /--

 Hi,

while writing an article on the XO-1.5 (build 851, Write-63) I realized that
wrongly spelled words were being underlined with red yet there was no way to
access the traditional suggestions menu with a right-click or something. I
also didn't find any functionality on the tabs that make use of the
 spellchecker.

Am I missing something here or does Write include a spellchecker that's
really not quite as powerful and useful as it could be?

 Thanks,
 Christoph

Re: [Sugar-devel] New F11 for the XO-1 Build 8

2009-10-18 Thread rihoward1

Steven

I have found several bugs in this build and want to report them if
they have not already been reported.
Is it safe to assume that there may be different places to report
bugs and read bug reports for F11 for the XO-1 Build 8 depending on
the component?
Could you please update http://wiki.laptop.org/go/F11_for_XO-1 with
information on where to report bugs / read bug reports, for the
different components?

This release includes a fix for the black box in Gnome, an updated
repository

definition, and replaces Firefox with Midori.

If you still want to use Firefox you can always install it by doing
a yum

install firefox as the root user.

Enjoy!
