This would be good for the Australian deployment who have asked how they could
get a soas which is an exact match of an xo build so the teacher could practice
on their laptop and easily connect a data projector

2010-05-28 Thread Mel Chua
Dave, Gerald - I started a stub for drafting a spec for this, and
linked to this thread so that it's easy to pull in links from James
and others (thanks for kickstarting this!)*

http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Kickstart_generator (I couldn't come up
with a better name...)

I also linked to this from
http://wiki.sugarlabs.org/go/Sugar_on_a_Stick_release_process#Current_feature_ideas
(we need to figure out a feature process in general, for how people
doing cool work on stuff like this can have their work officially
approved as a supported feature in some SoaS release.)

*...I just realized the (originally) unintentional pun right as I went
to hit the 'send' button.

Mel,

I like the stubs, the pun, and the term kickstart.

Thanks for your work on this.

Sounds remarkably like how the LinuxCOE SystemDesigner works. Web based
software that produces Fedora (or other distribution) installation
images suited to a set of requirements entered on web page.
