Yes, it's just rot13, but at least the file is only readable by root.
You have to love the simple things ;-)

[SunRay-Users] OpenSolaris/SRSS 4.1 test environment

2009-04-16 Thread Aaron Wilson
We currently have two servers running in failover. Those servers I
believe are running SRSS 4.0 and Solaris 10 U5.

We want to test out OpenSolaris 2008.11 and SRSS 4.1

I've followed the instructions on the wiki:
http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/SRSS_4.1_on_OpenSolaris_2008.11

I've gotten all the way to " Sun Ray Server 4.1 Topology Configuration
Instructions" and run a "utadm -a vr0" and then did the utconfig...

Trying to just test this OpenSolaris/SRSS4.1 install with a single test DTU.

Not sure what to do next to make that DTU boot from the test server
instead of our normal SRSS environment.

Aaron.

You could fire off a

tr '[A-Z][a-z]' '[N-Z][A-M][n-z][a-m]' < /etc/opt/SUNWut/utadmin.pw

to retrieve the old password. Works on solaris.

You can recover it by running "utpw -p" [1] as root and you can change
it with "utpw".

Ceri

[1] The password is actually stored ROT13'd [!] in
/etc/opt/SUNWut/utadmin.pw (as well as in LDAP).

[SunRay-Users] Multi-head with VPN

2009-04-16 Thread Stuart

Hi All,

Has anybody come across an issue where by Sun Rays hang when configured
in multi-head mode while using the built-in VPN capability??

I'm using SRSS 4.1 and Solaris U6. The Sun Ray system works fine until
I try and configure two DTUs as a multi-head group. I am able to
configure the group without any problems, but on a utrestart the DTUs
struggle to work and when a login screen does appear, I'm unable to type
into the user name box. Removing the group config makes everything work
fine again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stuart.
