Re: [SunRay-Users] EXT : Need help to install pcsc ccid in Solaris 10
Hello, For SRSS 5.3, 5.3.1 5.4 on Solaris, I just had to install CCID IFD Handler (If I'm not mistaken pcsc is already installed by default). You can find CCID Handler in edelivery.oracle.com : In Oracle Desktop Virtualization Products, then Sun Ray Software 5.1.1 Media Pack (PN : B61811-01) and to download Smart Card authentication with PC/SC Lite 1.3 (PN : V22948-01). You have to follow this documentation to install : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35310_01/E35309/html/CCID-IFD.html Regards, Vincent. Re: [SunRay-Users] SRS 5.4 on Oracle Linux 6.3 'Performance Issues'
Hi, Since updating to SRS 5.4, we experienced also the same sort of problems in our SunRay environment (2 servers in FOG). We're not on OL6 but on Solaris 11 but like you, sometimes, our SunRays gets stuck on '26 D' screen and the only way to resolve the problem is to kill the session in the Managment UI. When the problem occurs, a snoop command on SunRay interface show only TCP traffic to the DTU (no UDP Traffic at all). I opened a SR (#3-7085227001) about this issue and waiting an answer from Oracle. I don't know if our problems are related but as soon as I've got news, I'll update this thread. We are experiencing an issue where a server will start creating sessions and working well, but after some time the new sessions stop working, even if they are killed with 'utsession -k'. After this time no new sessions will work on this server, we just get '26D' on the Sun Ray client. The server has to be put offline 'utadm -f' until it can be rebooted to clear the problem. It looks to me like GDM is failing to start correctly after some number of sessions has been reached. I have applied the dbus changes recommended here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35310_01/E35308/html/Issues-Performance-Update.html , but haven't rebooted the servers yet. We don't have a high number of sessions per server (not 80, more like 25-40). Does anyone know what kind of symtoms are shown by the 'performance issues' discussed in this article? Are there any other configuration issues to watch out for with dbus/gdm? - Murray ___ SunRay-Users mailing list SunRay-Users@filibeto.org http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users ___ SunRay-Users mailing list SunRay-Users@filibeto.org http://www.filibeto.org/mailman/listinfo/sunray-users
Re: [SunRay-Users] [SRSS 5.4] All Kiosk sessions crashed at once
Craig, Scott, Thanks for your answers, I could identify the problem and it's not uttsc / SRS related. SRS did its job well by returning error code 5 as another debug (and faulty) script tried to connect to the same session. Thank you for your help. Regards, Vincent. Le 26/03/2013 00:39, Craig Bender a écrit : If you log into a TS session that up from a different device, Windows will terminate the connection to where it was displaying, i.e. the WINSTA, and redirected to the new WINSTA. Windows isn't complaining, it's informing the old WINSTA's client why it ended that WINSTA. Same client, same user, nothing would happen. If they were all using the same Windows user name and password, and the TS settings were changed to Limit users to one session (which is the the default), each time a new kiosk session started, it will cause the previous to end, due to the above. This would look like all the kiosk sessions crashed, but in reality, it's just moving from one to the next, to the next, to the next, etc. If that error code isn't coming from uttsc, then it would be coming from their kiosk script, kiosk.sh. On 3/25/13 4:29 PM, Nishimura, Scott L (ESS) wrote: Craig, But should that action produce an error? From Windows' standpoint, that's a legal operation. It just means that the user has accessed a locked session [possibly from a different TC but not necessarily so]. When you wrote same account, do you mean the SRS utku account or the Windows account? I assume it's the latter. The scenario I'm envisioning is a user logs into Windows via a TC, locks his session, them comes back in to Windows. Windows shouldn't complain because he provided the correct credentials. I don't see why uttsc would complain either. I didn't think uttsc could see that far into the process. So I assume that the exit code comes from uttsc. This script runs without any problem since 2 years now (with previous SRSS versions) so I don't think the problem comes from the script itself. Does anyone know where I could find uttsc exit codes so I can identify the root cause of this problem ? Thank you in advance. Re: [SunRay-Users] How to use Sunray when traveling?

Bringing the sunray box with the bulky desktop monitor with keyboard/mouse is apparently not the solution, not to mention it will be very hard to find a place to plug the ethernet cable into. I google and found there is once sunray laptop floating around (Sunray 2N?), but I am not sure it is a myth or real. Even if I can get a sunray laptop, there are times that I may do not have internet connection and wanted to get something done with the laptop, which I assume the Sunray laptop. So, I am thinking, can I leave everything at home, and somehow remotely connect to my sunray box, and receive all the screen outputs on my PC laptop? Or is there a virtual machine or something that I can install/run on my PC laptop to turn it into a Sunray client? Is a solution to what I dreamed about, or should I just forget it as a dreams?
