(Security is a constant battle, eternal vigilance, you should have many layers of security (an encrypted hard-drive perhaps), there will always be a tradeoff between ease-of-use and security). and how much hard drive space it takes up? The actual program is miniscule. But you can devote however much you want to the global distributed freenet network. The more, the better. and is it real necessary to leave it on all the time,as i have Comcast and they have a level cap. I think it's a lot better to stay connected and keep your node at a low throttled speed (to stay under your cap), rather than going online intermittently. Not only will it probably make your freenet surfing experience faster (not having to re-establish efficient routing links), but you'll be helping the data-retention of the network. Data is split and shared across the network, so imagine that your node was the only one that had a chunk of some important piece of information :). ___ Support mailing list Support@freenetproject.org http://news.gmane.org/gmane.network.freenet.support Unsubscribe at http://emu.freenetproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/support Or mailto:support-requ...@freenetproject.org?subject=unsubscribe
