Frost has an official website on the normal Internet. You can download the latest version from here: http://jtcfrost.sourceforge.net/ As a matter of fact, there is no official place on Freenet to download Frost from. Kind regards. -- Jose M. Is this program even being used? Which version of Frost are you running? You said in an earlier post that you were seeing error messages on the console and that makes me think that perhaps you are using an outdated version. The latest release was 22-Nov-2004 and you can find it here: http://jtcfrost.sourceforge.net (look in the "download" section). Download it, install it and let's see what happens then. Probably you already had that virus on your computer and it has infected the new file as you downloaded it or it is a false positive by McAfee VS. I have just downloaded these .exe files from http://freenetproject.org/snapshots/: NodeConfig.exe MD5: 1602d4a8321c8bbe791b6cb4f494ad52 freenet-webinstall.exe MD5: 3fd65bd853f855a1e6ec7ab9c633f4c6 freenet.exe MD5: cfe98d427dc8a13d2aad5f82e946114e I have checked them with my up to date version of Norton AV and it has reported nothing in them. Check the MD5s to see if the files you have have been modified in any way (a nice MD5 tool for Windows can be downloaded from here: http://winmd5sum.solidblue.biz/) Kind regards. -- Jose M. Taken from a faq I found somewhere on the net: 1. Log into PayPal 2. Click "History" 3. Select "Subscriptions" from the "Show:" drop-down box. 4. You may need to select a longer timeframe from the "For:" drop-down box if you have had your account longer than a month. Try selecting "Past Year". 5. Press submit. 6. You should see an entry there for your Freenet subscription. There will be a link in the "Status" column that tells you the status of the subscription. If it says "Active", click it. 7. Click the button that says "Cancel Subscription" and follow the remainder of the steps. Kind regards. -- Jose M. What is the problem you are experiencing? An error message (if so, which)? Are you uncapable of downloading anything from Freenet? What? Details, please. If it is the latter, I would run Frost (jtcfrost.sourceforge.net) to see if you receive messages. If that is the case, your node is alive and it will just need time to get integrated into the network. In any case, redirecting ports and 8481 in your router is a *bad* idea (those ports shouldn't be accesible from the outside). Only the main listening port should be redirected (64028 in your case). By the way, that 64028 port is a randomly chosen one, so you shouldn't disclose it, say, in Frost, if you don't want to compromise your anonymity. Kind regards. -- Jose M. Are you using a Windows OS by chance? If that is the case, check if you have TCP/IP filtering enabled. That may be the cause. To find out, open the properties of the network connection (in the control panel) that you are using, click on "Internet Protocol (TCPIP)", click on "Properties", click on "Advanced", and finally select the "Options" tab.
