We've had problems with paypal before. We've tried alternatives; nobody
would use them. However, when you organize a mass phoning-the-CFO
campaign, they are quite responsive :) Bring it on, a good slashdotting
usually helps the fund. We do not violate the regulations; we do not
provide pornographic services. If they want to take the line that we do,
well, we'll deal with that when we come to it. BTW there is ~~ $0 in the
paypal account; I just got sent $800, and that was all there was in the
account. There is however a substantial sum in the bank, some of which
will be sent to the project codefrog shortly. We may launch an appeal
after releasing the simulation results formally in the coming days..

Quite interesting, albeit not fully informative (what is codefrog ?
why codefrog and not another project? ).

I'm doing my yearly small donation to the Freenet Project,
but I'm still very disappointed by the non-public way
the Project use to administer the money that receive.

At the beginning the site had at least the running total
of the PayPal donation, and from time to time in the
donatio page itself, some news was given, as for example
the good news of your full time job!

Last year I wrote exactly the same thing, but received
no answer; I would be pleased to see from time to
time, news on the site ot maillist, about the
way money is used. I'm quite sure that I'm not
 alone.

For example, the Florence Linux User Group normally discuss
in public how the (few) money is managed, and use
a signed spreadsheet with income and expenses. Few minutes
each month suffice to update this.

On the main site I was unable to find the composition of
the Freenet Board or any detail about the way money
is used. The mission statement is not a detail, of course.

Your mail is the first news I saw by longtime on this
subject; I really cannot understand why
a formally managed project give no details of the
 way his money is managed.

A simple monthly mail sent to the maillist will be
 enought (IMHO, of course)

In any case my donation will arrive shortly

Ciao. Marco

mio diritto riconosciuto, informazioni e materiali assoluta-
mente legali.
fare a tutti noi.

Indeed, as can readily be seen on www.freenethelp.org:14741/toad : no
monkey.
