I just d/l'd and installed the latest release, and the new Freenet
Controller app says Freenet is running, but when I try to connect to
http://localhost:, all I get is a message that localhost could not
be contacted. What's wrong?

2003-01-29 Thread Aaron Davies
When I open it in Safari, it changes to
http://127.0.0.1:/servlet/nodeinfo/ and says Could not open the
page http://127.0.0.1:/servlet/nodeinfo/; because Safari could not
load any data for this location.

2003-01-29 Thread Aaron Davies
It's already 256KB by now, so I don't think I'll post it. I think I'll
try building from source. Come to think of it, I got some odd errors
trying to unpack the release tarball.

Ok, then that wasn't the problem.. Are you sure that the freenet server
manages to start up correctly. I am not aquaitned with the Controller
app, maybe it is saying the wrong thing.

The freenet server should have produced a log file named freenet.log in
the same directory as the jar-file. Can you have a look inside this one
with a text editor to see if everything looks normal (or send it here
even).
