Re: [SHR Unstable] Copy + Paste?
even though I searched the forums/the www, I couldn't find a working way to copy+paste in SHR Unstable. One post by Rasterman suggested that you could open a copy+paste menu by pressing and holding the input device (stylus/finger) for about a second, however that did not work for me at all, neither in the terminal application that comes with SHR Unstable nor in any other program. Is copy and paste not implemented in SHR, or did I do something fundamentally wrong? :) copy/paste works but differently in different applications: e based apps - only fields that you can edit, write something, put long press and select from menu gtk based apps - only fields where you can edit and sometimes select text - ctrl-c, ctrl-v terminal - select and then use the paste icon, in general, copy paste support _is_there_ but there are apps where you cannot copy/paste (for example you cannot copy text from sms you received and paste it into another one you want to send). Re: Setting app nor opkg update seem to be working
I recommend using SHR's unstable image, the July 3rd image, as an everyday phone. They just came out with a new build today which I have not yet tested. om2009, though pretty reliable, is lacking in terms of other software you can install to make a nice smart phone. there is one feature om2009 has that nobody else implemented yet - SMS delivery report :( i use SHR anyways, quietly hoping that perhaps one day the code gets copied from paroli and used in shr (not really as paroli is in python...) and SMS delivery notify will start working in SHR too :) Petr ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support

rework
hi, i was lucky enough to get someone to perform the gsm buzz rework. i find the images used in the http://people.openmoko.org/joerg/GSM_EMI_noise/big-C_rework_SOP_rc2.pdf quite rather _small_ therefore please find some of my pictures done via microscope here: http://vanous.penguin.cz/files/om/SOP/ Please feel free to use them to improve your manual. Also, we found that placing the 100uF cap according to the manual is rather strange and could cause problems in future - so we placed the cap in a way that is will be soldered to the PCB on both ends, making it hold really tight (that particular picture is somewhat blurry) We didn't have 2k2 in 0402 size so we used 2x 80Ohm in series (we just built a A shape with them). The fix works - done on two units, one showed gsm buzz before and now it's gone. Some of the other pictures show D4301, D4302, as under the microscope we found one of them damaged from manufacturing - placing the cover - something om might watch for. cheers petr ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
Re: [FSO 5.1] WSOD on resume
when speaking of wsod i just wanna say - when i play with my menu kernel + initrd image which is rather big (5-7MB), there are occasions where i get wsod all the time after boot (i used to suffer it a lot during normal operation but not anymore after Andy's fixes). I can correct this [only] by regenerating and reflashing my kernel image (./build GTA02; dfu-...). I could not see any pattern, unfortunately. I also don't have any of the bad kernel images anymore, but when i hit on one again, i can keep it... - could this be kernel size related somehow? -- Petr ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support
Re: FSO Milestone 5
I believe you need a file /boot/append-GTA02 (given that you are using a GTA02 model), which on my Freerunner contains: rw loglevel=8 rootdelay=5 glamo_core.slow_memory=1 what you say is correct but we are treating symptoms, rather then addressing the issue. as andy pointed, the rootfs should be mounted ro at first and then remounted to rw which is not happening for some reason unknown (yet) to us. OK, here is a quick feedback, will do more tests and investigation later: - package for download contains kernel and root fs - super, as this prevents confusion what kernel to use - no echo on calls (great!!!) - 100% working headset/handset switching (great!!) - no more first menu item 1/2 hiding issue - usb networking out of box with nameservers in resolf.conf - timezone setup works Some issues still present: - headset sound very quiet - incoming call gets registered as missed - no ring sound on incoming calls (but works during call) - 4.4.1 feed not present Great work Lorn!
