HW problems ...
Hi all, I've read of the hw problems in the wiki. Now I got my freerunner the other day and I can boot without a battery (while reading the wiki, I understood that this wasn't possible) and I can see a tiny soldering between the 3rd and 4th pin of the sd card (this should be related to the GPS problem). Have these two HW bugs been fixed in the new freerunners shipped recently ? This news would make me happy :) And a last question. Can I use the freerunner without a gsm sim card ? ATM I don't have one and it seems the default system gets stuck in the gsm registering loop. thanks pp ___ support mailing list support@lists.openmoko.org https://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/support

There was some discussion of adding a larger capacitor somewhere, I'm not sure if that was the only modification or in fact whether it helped at all. There was also a lot of work being done on the software side by delaying powering up various components until sufficient power was confirmed.
