I was getting the same error as sparky mat.  As you suspected, this solved it:

# agt-get install ppp

GPRS is now working for me with Debian and T-Mobile.  Used these instructions:

I get the following error when I run the gprs script (as per the wiki)

/org/freesmartphone/GSM/Device: ActivateContext failed:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.IOError


Please note that GSM works fine and I am able to make calls.

Weird. Please

1) add log_level = DEBUG to /etc/frameworkd.conf under [ogsmd]

2) /etc/init.d/fso-frameworkd stop

3) run frameworkd manually and log all output while running gprs
   script. You might want to search and replace your PIN code or other
   non-public stuff.
