I apologize for all the confusion.

I am hearing reports that SHR is being used for a daily phone,
receiving/sending calls/sms reliably.

I thought perhaps it was the fact that I was loading the ppp-generic
module, after unloading it, the phone worked better for a while, but
it is back to hanging on the receipt of a call.
