Also, that package sounds as though it's specifically for pfSense 1.2.3
which makes me wary of installing it on my test 2.0 machine.

I haven't this package installed and I have this option :)

it does not set a quota, but bandwidth limit to the IP :)

I got interested in the subject also. if there is, may be a great news for

 No I haven't. The package description says:

 With Fit123 a small set of features can be added to pfSense 1.2.3
 (Date)Adds current date to front page (LTSP)Adds 3th network boot

 Servers)Adds option for a 3th and 4th DNS Server (DDNS)A more
 customize way to update dynamic dns (Themes)On install Code-red and
 the pfsense ng theme are added to the list of avalible themes.

 That doesn't mention download quotas. Can you elucidate more on what
 this package offers in the way of a download quota and where I can
 find the option when I've installed it (I'd just throw it in but in
 the present situation all I have access to are production systems).
 Thanks

Re: [pfSense Support] download quota

2009-11-24 Thread Pete Boyd

 Is it possible to set a download quota per captive portal user, or per
 IP address, or something, using pfSense 1.2 or 2.0?

 For example 20GB total download per month, or until the captive portal
 account expires.

Thankyou for your explanation but what I'm looking for is a download
total limit (in gigabytes) rather than a bandwidth limit (in kb/s).

Yeah I'd read that, so I've just setup a test 2.0 because if it offers
this then it may be worth us migrating to 2.0 even in alpha. I installed
the freeraduis package but don't see any option for download limit, is
that done through a radious option?

[pfSense Support] Lcdproc doesn't support picolcd?

2009-11-24 Thread Bart Grefte
Hi y'all :)

I've been trying to get Lcdproc working in
pfSense-1.2.3-2g-20091105-2039-nanobsd.img.gz, so far no luck.
Still seeing the standard message Mini-Box put in, got the M300 LCD case.

pfsense's log says this:
Nov 17 20:03:50php: lcdproc: The chosen lcdproc driver is not a valid choice
Nov 17 20:03:57php: lcdproc: Stopping service: no com port selected

So I'm guessing the picolcd driver isn't in the lcdproc package, eventhough a
pfsense forum admin said back in January (
http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,13697.msg73607.html#msg73607 ) that
he(she?) would make it work with picolcd's. No response from him(her?), not even
through PM, so I'll try here.

Does anyone know how to get Lcdproc to work with picolcd's in combination with
pfsense?

With regards,

Bart Grefte

[pfSense Support] pfsense 1.23 rc3 - ipsec VPN dies randomly, but stays active in the overview

2009-11-24 Thread Michel Servaes
Hi,

My pfSense setup ran for about 30 days without a problem.
I had a setup with all DLINK DI804 or DI824VUP (wireless variant of
the DI804), which ran smoothly. (exclluding mine at home a monowall
setup).

Since I have added two IPSEC tunnels to both Linksys' RV042 - my VPN
connections start to die randomy, but stay active in both the webgui's
overview (both, I mean pfSense and the DLINK's) - but either way is
impossible to ping each other !!

If I restart the DLINK router, or if I restart within pfSense the
IPSEC stack - all starts running again fine ?!

Some years ago, I had almost the same problem (pinging back then was
possible, but no RDP or VNC) - and someone pointed out to add 4 lines
of code in the config, for your convienience I have added them to this
posting...
But I am wondering, if this is still accurate, and if this also
addresses this issue as well ?

Kind regards,

--

In /etc/rc.bootup add there near the comment
/* start IPsec tunnels */

exec(/sbin/sysctl net.enc.out.ipsec_bpf_mask=0x);
exec(/sbin/sysctl net.enc.out.ipsec_filter_mask=0x0001);
exec(/sbin/sysctl net.enc.in.ipsec_bpf_mask=0x);
exec(/sbin/sysctl net.enc.in.ipsec_filter_mask=0x0002);

save and reboot.

Have you tried checking the Prefer old IPsec SAs option under System
