Yahoo decided to kill off their existing messenger and replace it with 
something that is universally regarded as a steaming pile of crap.

I appreciate Eion's, dequis's and others' efforts to integrate it into Pidgin, 
but after trying to for with it for a couple of months I gave up and managed to 
convince most of my buddies to use XMPP instead.

As for ICQ, you can register on https://icq.com/join, but you must give them a 
mobile phone number to send you an SMS.
Since I am reluctant to give them this information, I am not on ICQ.

Hi again,

Please include support@ in your replies in case someone else is able to
answer your question.  Also, one email is enough, not 5.

When picking the protocol type in the dropdown list, make sure you use
"Yahoo (2016)" and not "Yahoo".  If the "Yahoo (2016)" option is not
available, have another go at trying the installation instructions and try
again.

The only difference I'm seeing here between Trillian and Pidgin is the
xmlns not being sent by Trillian









I'm not familiar with the XMPP XEP's to know if the xmlns is required but
http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0085.html suggests it might be?  Oh,
although it looks like Trillian is using
https://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0022.html for  instead?

I'm going to cc the development mailing list in case someone else has an
idea

hi i got it to  work and did connect but my buddy list is gone..how do i 
get them back..its like they dropped..off

i had at least 20 of them and need them back
