Skype doesn't seem to log in....

2017-05-02 Thread Dennis Carr
Running Pidgin 2.12.0 (libpurple 2.12.0) on Debian stretch (testing).
(Note, Stretch is frozen, but not yet declared stable.)

Just added the Skype plugin, but I'm not getting a password prompt - as
such, it seems to be struggling to log in. Doesn't seem to be anything
in the documentation on how to get around this.

In a nutshell... help? =D

Thanks,
-Dennis Carr

Re: New skype4pidgin release

2017-05-02 Thread Eion Robb
Hi Alex,

Probably better to ask the developer of the plugin rather than the Pidgin
support mailing list, as Pidgin doesn't support third party plugins. :)

The 1.4 update adds support for libpurple 3.0, but doesn't take away
support for 2.0

Cheers,
Eion

https://github.com/EionRobb/skype4pidgin/releases

Does it still work with 2.12, or should I stay with 1.3?

I'm sure you do have access to Pidgin, as that is just the software that runs
on your workstation. What you probably don't have access to is Oracle's
internal instant messaging server.

No we can't help, as we have no knowledge of Oracle's internal systems.

However, we believe that people in Oracle can get further information

When you do find someone in Oracle, please point out that nearly half the
requests on this mailing list are misdirected ones from Oracle employees, and
that makes Oracle look bad.

 Hi again,
You might have an older copy of the Facebook plugin in

using by opening Help->Plugin information, and scrolling about 2/5ths of the

Re: Need help getting started with libpurple

2017-05-02 Thread Alfred . D'Souza
Thanks for the reply, nullclient started working after I ran "sudo make
install". Seems like something from make install was needed to complete the
configuration, I'll need to find out what it is since I need to run the
code on a server that does not have a development environment.

Hi Alfred,

Are you able to link us to your source code to see what's going on?  Also,
are you able to get a full libpurple debug log out of your client?  It
should tell you what's happening under the hood.

Cheers,
Eion
