Yes, you can. Add a skype4pidgin plugin ( http://code.google.com/p/skype4pidgin/ )to make your Skype contact list appear in Pidgin. Users are confused because even as they check localization they need, Pidgin still starts in English and shows no sign of switching language. Checking Spanish or Russian localization checkbox is no big deal really, but to switch Pidgin language Windows users must create an environment variable. I am a programmer, so this is not a problem for me, but I can imagine users who don't even know *what is* environment variable and how to operate it. How it looks on Linux, I can't say though. You should check the es checkbox during installation and the create an environment variable named PIDGINLANG with value es. There are currently 27 languages that qualify, the Russian translation is, unfortunately, not one of them. Pidgin 2.7.1, Windows. When I send a message to my buddy (he is using QIP), he receives it with a tags like font size = 3 /font, but only if I use custom font. When I install Pidgin 2.7.1, the installer has only 3 languages (Russian is not in the list). I check the ru checkbox during installation, but Pidgin remains English after installation...
