 Pidgin uses only the IP addresses and ports that you tell it to.
 You'll have to configure this based on knowledge of your local
services.
 It sounds like you want to open port 6667 to irc.ostc.http://irc.ostc.com/

No.  Pidgin uses only the IP addresses and ports that you tell it to.
You'll have to configure this based on knowledge of your local
services.  It sounds like you want to open port 6667 to irc.ostc.com,
to me.
