The use every time check box refers to the cookie permission rule and not to the cookie itself. When you have cookie expiration set to ask for each cookie, a prompt box appears every time a site tries to set a cookie. There are three buttons to choose from. 1. allow 2. allow for session 3. block There is also a check box use my choice for all cookies from this site If you check the use my choice for all cookies from this site check box, a rule is created in the data manager under the domain that attempted to set the cookie. If you select allow and use for all, you will never get asked again. Every time you go to that site, the rule is applied instead of prompting you for what to do. If you look in your cookie manager, you will find hundreds of rules for domains. Most of these are set to block a site from setting cookies. It is these rules that seem to be Disappearing. If I close SM and open it again, when I open my browser I find no cookie rule for the google domain what so ever. There is a never save passwords rule, but nothing for cookies. If I go to google and select allow for session and use for all, there will be an entry in the cookie manager showing this rule. If I close SM and open again, the rule is gone and I have to manually set the cookie permissions for google again. This is absolutely new behavior. I have been using SM since it was mozilla, and ever since session cookies were introduced, I have been doing things more or less the same way. Even if I manually add a rule in the data manager, it is not there after I close and reopen SM. It is the cookies that expire at the end of the session, not the rules you create for cookie permissions. If you don't see a list of account names on the left, look at the very left edge of the screen, about halfway down, and you'll see where the border is speckled. Mouse over that, and when the cursor changes to a hand with the index finger pointing up, click to reveal the list. Then proceed as above. I know there is a draft there because I put one there and everytime I open the mail it will ask if I want to send unsent messages and I have to click on no. OK, I'm not talking about the preferences window, which is as you describe. Close that and you should get the regular mail window. Depending on your options, you may see some or all of these: • list of account names and folders (probably on the left); • list of messages within the currently selected folder (probably at top right); • content of message currently selected (probably at bottom right) The folder you're looking for is Unsent Messages, and it should be in your default account. There usually isn't a separate one for each account. There's also a Drafts folder for each account, but those messages are not queued for sending, so SM will not prompt you to send them. Only those in the Unsent Messages folder will elicit the prompt. Paul, I have a vague memory of what you have described, i.e. several segments on the screen with list of account names, folders for sent, unsent messages, drafts, etc. My screen does not have those. I suspect I have (somewhere) changed how email displays to the screen and it displays : send, address, attach, spell, security, save, from, sender, subject, then message text. I do see the speckled line on the left on the above and I see what clicking there eliminates and replaces the entries above. I am using Seamonkey for browser and email if that information helps any. I appreciate your help. Please stay with me a little longer on this. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Message reply on newsgroups
Hi all and many thanks for SM and the help which is given. My problem is that on another newsgroup if I hit reply I get a blank screen with the correct header. On this newsgroup I get a full quote of the message which I wish to reply to. How do I get the first newsgroup to behave in the same way as this one? tia -- Sandy Morton On the bicycle island In the global village ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

How do I get the first newsgroup to behave in the same way as this one? This is actually not a per-group setting, but a per-server setting. Go to Mail Newsgroups Account Settings, locate the account for the newsserver you want to modify, go to the Composition Addressing subfolder. [Linux] Disk space msg limit causes missing email
SM 2.14 linux (32bit 64bit). I cannot reproduce on SM 2.14 Windows. I have a POP3 account that I had set the download limit to 1024KB: Edit|Mail Newsgroups...|account|Disk Space|To save disk space...|Messages larger than 1024KB and one message today is 1.1MB. So I click on the message and get the the standard 'msg is truncated, click to download the rest', I do so and SM2.14 downloads the rest of the message. Unfortunately, unlike in earlier versions, once I've downloaded the remainder of the message, the msg is blank basically doesn't exist. I tested this across 3 different linux systems (32 and 64bit) and the result was the same. The only way that I recovered (as I knew the message was still on the POP3 server) was to shut down SeaMonkey, delete the corresponding folder .msf and popstate.dat file, reset the 'Messages larger than 1024KB' to Messages larger than 2024KB' and then right click on the account select 'Get Messages for account' to get the message. So, after all of that; can anyone else reproduce? If so then I can submit a bug report w/verification. ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

NoOp: SM 2.14 linux (32bit 64bit). I cannot reproduce on SM 2.14 Windows. User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:20.0) Gecko/2012112903 SeaMonkey/2.17a1-h I have a POP3 account that I had set the download limit to 1024KB: Edit|Mail Newsgroups...|account|Disk Space|To save disk space...|Messages larger than 1024KB Done restarted SM to be on the safe side. and one message today is 1.1MB. I have send a PM to me with a text attachment of 3.3M. Appeared in the Sent folder as 4.5M. So I click on the message and get the the standard 'msg is truncated, click to download the rest', Same here. I do so and SM2.14 downloads the rest of the message. Same here. Unfortunately, unlike in earlier versions, once I've downloaded the remainder of the message, the msg is blank basically doesn't exist. The message was downloaded completely and was readable. After 'Save As...' a compare showed no difference to the original attachment. [...] So, after all of that; can anyone else reproduce? If so then I can submit a bug report w/verification. All is fine here. No need to bother with a bug report. :) Hartmut ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
Re: Adding an Address to the Address Book
Mister Moose: What has happened to the Add Sender to Address Book option in SeaMonkey? It has simply disappeared from the menu options when I right-click on an email header. Right-clicking on a 'From: ' header in the header pane shows still the option 'Add To Address Book...' on my SM 2.17a1. Why was it removed? I used this feature often! If the 'From: ' is your own name, then you have the option 'Edit Contact...' instead of the above mentioned option. Practical, IMHO.
