Hmmm, using post-2.49 releases (i.e. non ESR-based) seems slightly
"risky" to me (these releases don't get a lot of testing AFAIU).

akalla used to build a Win64 installer.

It seems like ewong plans to make one available as a contrib build?

An example is cleveland.com.

I don't have any problems at that website using uBlock Origin. At a few other
sites I do
have problems unless, as other's mentioned, scripting is turned off.

This is a place where NoScript can also be useful. Detection of
ad-blocking is something that relies on scripts, and if scripts don't
run, then you don't get a whine about ad-blocking.

Of course, some sites are very script-heavy, and to get functionality
that you want, you may have to do some amount of whitelisting, and
sometimes the scripting that delivers what you want may also be the same
scripting that looks for the presence of blockers.

There's definitely trade-offs.

I suspect the Web server has set a cookie on your PC that indicates the
use of AdBlock Plus.

I have the PrefBar extension installed for SeaMonkey. I enabled the
"domain cookies" button, which I can select to delete all cookies for
the current domain. I also created an AdBlock Plus checkbox, which I
uncheck to disable AdBlock Plus in a single click (quicker than
selecting AdBlock Plus's icon and then disabling it from its popup
context menu).

For that particular site, I just dismiss the nag without action by
clicking the "X" at the top right of the dialog and then browse
normally. No restart required. Of course I have to do that again for
each article, but I don't generally spend a lot of time on each site.

This is blocked by bug 1231349. Also the reason why we removed extensions in
the last releases. I now have at least calendar working. More to come hopefully...

Why are they disappearing??

2017-10-23 Thread Daniel
I usually have a couple of threads, which contain stuff I'm interested
in, with their "Unread" dots turned back on, so that they stayed listed
(in Dark Gray) in my Threads pane, on the top right of my SM screen.

In the last week or so, the dots have turned off but the threads still
show up, in light Grey font, in three of the the four groups I read on
this Server, m.test, m.d.a.seamonkey, m.s.seamonkey.

In m.general, I also have three threads which I have completely read
(and never turned the Dot back On!!), and also Mark->Thread as Read
several times, but they still show up, in Light Grey.

I don't see the same sort of thing happening on my UseNet server account.

What caused the dots that were On to turn Off, and why are the threads
still showing up in the Threads Pane??
