Is there a file or folder I need to delete to force the settings I have

How are you issuing the "directive to file archived mail in a separately
specified local folder"? The usual way is, for each mail account, go to
Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings | | Copies and Folders
and specify it under

[x] Keep messages archived in:
(o) "Archives" Folder on [Local Folders]
(•) Other Folder: [Choose Folder...]

Are these settings correct on your machine? Or is SM getting confused
because Windows and Linux specify folders differently?

Don't know what you mean.

Need exact steps to reproduce.

my machine has a C: drive for programs, and an F: and G: drive for
backup storage. In the past I have always directed the local folders
to one or the other of the storage drives where all archives are kept.

for while now, whenever I reboot the machine, the local folders has
lost contact with the path to the storage drive that is selected in
Account Settings: /media/sean/7DCF1DCD6715DC30/local folders

Which operating system are you attempting to do this from? Mention of
C:, F: and G: drives looks like Windows, but /media/sean/... looks
like a Linux path. Your user-agent header also indicates that you're
posting from Linux, although that may not be the system you're having
problems with.

If Linux, it may be worth checking that the disk is mounted before
starting SeaMonkey.

If you're attempting to share a single SeaMonkey profile between both
Windows and Linux, that won't work - particularly in this case where
there are paths which need to be specified differently on the two
systems.

Well, not the case, sort of!! As my sig file indicates, I run SeaMonkey
on both Win7 and MangiaLinux. Of course, both OS's have their related
Profile files with-in their OS set-ups, but the E-mail, News Group and
Bookmark files are stored on my Win7 E:\.

Precisely @Daniel... I know i have succeeded in this previously, even
accessing the same e'mail archive from Seamonkey setup in a dual boot of
WinXP & PeppermintOne

Can't find any info about this anywhere, so I'm posting my query here in

Isn't it cool when the archives of mozilla newsgrousp can help solve a
problem?

I don't have a "Delete" button on the toolbar at the top of the
browser window. The "Customize Toolbar" window doesn't have a
"Delete" button that I can add to the toolbar; how can I put one there?

(I used to use Prefbar also, which I'm more familiar with -- but I
don't have it working yet.)

What do you plan to Delete from the browser window?

The Delete button is for messages in the Mail & Newsgroups window.

It is located between the Junk and the Mark buttons in the Mail
Toolbar in my SM on Win10.

Just like here:

Sorry, I meant the MAIL window, not the browser window!

I deleted the Mark button a while back; the Mark button is now down in
the bin of available buttons, where I expected to find the Delete button.

I'll keep experimenting; maybe a reinstall of SM will turn it up.

I found the Delete button in the Customize window in Mac SeaMonkey, but
it seems to have no image, just text. I have not used it for years,
since I replaced it with the File button, which is more useful.

As you suggest, Sunbird is very, very, old, and, I think, you'll find
no longer supported.

However there is now an extension called "Lightning" which, I think,
does the same sort of stuff, and you might find support for it in the
newsgroup mozilla.support.calender on this server.

Give it a go.
You are right -- Sunbird is very, very, very old, and is no longer
supported. But then, I'm also very, very, very old too, but things still
seem to work okay. Wait ... what was that creaking sound?

I had looked through the Mozilla group names but failed to see the
calendar one, so thanks for that! Subscribed, did a search for Sunbird,
and found a thread back in 2012 that discussed precisely my problem. I
simply moved the content of the existing profiles fold out and replaced
it with the old stuff that I have recovered, and the whole think worked
perfectly displaying all the old data. So again, thanks for that tip!

No problem!
