I saw a the site is in Beta notification when it was loading.

A couple of the images appeared, the rest were blank.

Clicking on a blank image opened it for viewing.

Having seen that information, posts by GerardJan are considered to be
spam on this group and are filtered - after a delay of several hours -
on the server.  No idea whether a script is used or if the moderation is
done by hand.
Threads like this one are also not particularly welcomed by the
moderator, that might explain why one of your postings (if I understood
the sender-description) vanished.
This is a Mozilla-Help Forum, although I agree that posts vanishing is
of interest.

Yes, there are certain senders that have gotten onto Chris Ilias's $#!+
list, and all their postings, no matter how helpful or innocuous, are
routinely deleted from the newsgroup. I should know -- I posted one
message back in November that he didn't like, and ever since, everything
I send, no matter how I alter my name and sig, are deleted. I've even
tried using a VPN to change my IP address, but somehow he detects me and
purges the message.

Since it takes several hours, I must assume he's running the filter
manually, and I can't imagine how he has the time to bother. No life, I
guess... And once you get on the $#!+ list, there's no way off -- he
doesn't reply to emails either here or off-list.

So if you want the full NG unsabotaged by his petty vindictiveness, you
have to read it though Google Groups.

Since it was mentioned, the reason I have not upgraded to 2.53.4, is that some
extensions do not work there. I am hoping that soon Seamonkey will be
compatible with all Firefox extensions. Until then it will be a struggle for
all Seamonkey fans.

Which extensions?
--

The extensions that matter the most and which do not work in 2.53.4 are
X-notifier 3.5.23 and Forecastfox (fix version) 2.4.8. These are the last
versions that ever worked with Seamonkey. When Seamonkey becomes really
compatible with WEBEXT extensions I will be able to use the latest versions now
developed for Firefox. Until then I will either stay with 2.49.5 or move to
Chrome.

Not Firefox? I refuse to use Chrome, Edge, etc.

Re: How to Set SeaMonkey as default mail client in Windwso 10?

2020-10-13 Thread meagain

 Original Message
I had to reset my Windows 10 installation. That was a bad idea. It
essentially deleted all of my programs. I'm adding back the ones I need
but I can't seem to get SeaMonkey set as the Default Mail program so
Libre Office and Foxit PDF reader (and probably other applications)
can't sent mail.

I gone into the Default applications and Windows offers SeaMonkey as one
of the mail options so I set it. It doesn't work. I suspect I need to do
something more.

Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Google says, Change default programs in Windows 10

On the Start menu, select Settings > Apps > Default apps.
Select which default you want to set, and then choose the app.

You may want your . pdf files, or email, or music to automatically
open using an app other than the one provided by M$.
